We've eaten here monthly for years. The food is consistently excellent hands down . Nice portion size. Great drinks. We've tried a good portion of the menu items but have faves - linguine with white clam sauce , margherita pizza, center cut pork chop with an outrageous sage garlic gravy , chicken Murphy, calamari both styles , shrimp Zambuca, eggplant parm, zeppoles, Consistently amazing . Hidden Gem in historic Dover

I’m mad at myself for not trying this place sooner…cozy, charming and an unmatched atmosphere. It almost seemed as if everyone at every table knew each other. Food was amazing, busser was a hard working young man who deserved a little for himself…

We Hoped For Better

Apparently there are not very many good restaurants in the Dover area and this is one of them. The waitress did not use a pad for our order and of course she got it wrong. When that got straightened out the clams appetizer came and it was not appetizing in the least. Not in appearance not taste. In addition the entrees were just mediocre. Unfortunately if you want a decent meal while in the Dover area it appears that you will have to travel out of town.

I TOOK A TRIP TO DOVER, New Jersey, AND VISITED A QUAINT PLACE CALLED TABLE 42. THE OWNER, CHUCK, SEATED THE PATRONS IN HIS PLACE. HE WAS A VERY PERSONABLE PERSON THAT SEATED YOU WHEREVER YOU DESIRED. HE SEATED ME BY THE ENTERTAINMENT FOR THE EVENING. THE WAITRESSES WERE VERY EFFICIENT AND THE COCKTAILS WERE GREAT. THERE WAS A LARGE SELECTION OF FOOD WHICH I PICKED SHRIMP PARMIGIANA WITH LINGUINI, ROLLS AND VEGETABLES. IT WAS OUT OF THIS WORLD. THE PORTION WAS GREAT AND DELICIOUS TO ENJOY. I WAS INTERESTED IN THE ACOUSTIC ENTERTAINER THAT CHUCK HAD HIRED FOR THE EVENING. THE ENTERTAINER, BRYAN BREATHES, IS VERY ENTHUSIASTIC IN HIS ROLE AS A GUITAR PLAYER. HE ALSO PLAYS THE HARMONICA AND THE PIANO. WHAT A TREAT TO WATCH HIM PERFORM ON THESE DEVISES! HE TAKES REQUESTS FROM THE AUDIENCE WHERE THEY HAVE CARDS ON THEIR TABLES WHICH THEY CAN REQUEST. THERE ISN'T A SONG THAT BRYAN CAN'T PLAY. HE ACCOMMODATES THE WHOLE AUDIENCE WITH HIS KNOWLEDGE OF THE MUSIC WORLD. HE HAS A GREAT RAPPORT WITH THE PATRONS AND RELATES WITH THEM ON A PERSONAL LEVEL. HE PLAYED SPANISH SONGS TO ACCOMMODATE THOSE SPANISH PEOPLE. IN ADDITION THERE WAS A WEDDING GOING ON AND THE WEDDING PARTY WANTED A CERTAIN SONG PLAYED. HE ACCOMMODATED THAT GROUP AND PLAYED THEIR REQUEST. THEN CONGRATULATED THEM WITH A TOAST FROM THE ENTIRE RESTAURANT. HE DOES IT ALL AND NOONE IS LEFT UNTURNED BY HIM. HE EVEN INCLUDED HOLIDAY SONGS TO COMPLIMENT THE SEASON OF THE YEAR. IT WAS A MEMORABLE EVENING FOR ME. IF YOU GET THE CHANCE TO VISIT TABLE 42 DO SO. YOU WILL ENJOY THE COCKTAILS AND FOOD. This was our 2nd visit for dinner and our meals both times was a 10 out of 10 . From the linguini with clams to the Salmon to the pasta carbonara, everything was outstanding, including the service! I highly recomend!

Stopped in last Friday and enjoyed a great pizza and listened to Jeff Miller. Table 42 has a warm, welcoming atmosphere and they pour a wonderful Guinness! It's so nice to have them in town.

Bar atmosphere and very nice. Great drinks and food. Good menu,with a lot to choose from. Go with a bunch of people every and enjpy drinking eating and talking. Entertainment is pretty good

The chicken arugula, chicken Catalina, perfecto . Clams appetizer delicious. Veal Francesca and shrimp scampi were excellent. Desserts lemoncello pie and bread pudding worth getting.

Everything You Could want in a Restaurant!

My husband and I come to Table 42 often. Every time we come, the food is great and the staff, along with Chuck the owner are always so warm and welcoming. There is also live music on the weekends which makes the whole experience even better. Recently we brought my 89 year old mom to Table 42 for dinner and she honestly hasn't stopped raving about it!! This is a wonderful local place to eat that I highly recommend.
