Went to Bistro 1051 as with the last night our daughter and was home from school. We arrived early as it will fill quickly by 6-630 PM. We brought our own wine and enjoyed some appetizers before ordering. The flatbread was phenomenal and my neighbors...Dynamite Shrimp dish was spicy and perfect. Wait staff was excellent and the owner Mike makes his rounds checking in on everyone. I ordered Eggplant Parmigiana which was served with pasta. Had to bring half home, it was more than I could eat, The Hanger steak seemed to be a big hit as 4 of our group ordered it. Our waitress was very engaging and despite it being very busy, never seemed rushed nor were we to leave. Dessert was out of the question as our meals were so filling. This is a great Italian Place for dinner and they do have a wide Sushi menu if you like that. There are also Gluten free items as two in our party take advantage of that. Just arrive early to avoid the wait.More
The service was spot on. They were very attentive to our every need. Food was delicious but the shell fish was over cooked in the seafood linguini. All other dinners were excellent, especially the stuffed pork chops. Will be going back.
We have been coming to Bistro 1051 for NYE the last 3 years tonight is no exception looking forward to the best Porkchop ever. I can't stop eating the chop here always tasty tender and delicious. Varied menu all meals really well prepared with great...portions. Awesome bread too. BYO so grab your favorite drink and head on over to Bistro 1051 you will love it.More
While traveling from DC to Boston my wife and I stopped for the night at a motel off the Garden State Parkway. An ad for Bistro 1051 in our rom convinced us to give it a try. We were glad we did. It can be...hard for someone unfamiliar with the area to find Bistro 1051 at night. The road is not well lit, the restaurant is not on the road but near the back of a shopping center and the entrance is not clarly marked. However, we made the effort and it was worth the trip. On the way in I asked a patron who was leaving if the restaurant got good reviews. He asked, “Do you like lamb? Try the Osso Buco.” I did. I don’t really know if it was lamb or veal (more traditional) but the meat was tasty. It was the Mushroom Risotto, however, that made the dish. It was outstanding. The staff are friendly and seemed to know most of the patrons. Good service, good food. Prices seem to reflect the New York area market – a bit higher than I would expect but comparable with other restaurants in the area.More
Excellent time at Bistro 1051 for a special occasion. Made a reservation and had a wonderful time.
Excellent appetizers choices, many flat bread options and supreme main entrees. Couldnt finish our dinners as the portions were huge.
The only downpoint, the side of the restaurant...with bigger tables on the right gets so loud to the point you cannot hear each other.More
I came here with a bunch of friends. The atrium room has a very nice atmosphere and the wait staff was very attentive. The food was good, but nothing special with some dishes being better than others. Being that the dishes were on the pricier...side, I think there are better, more reasonable options in the area.More
My girlfriend and I had been here last year for a birthday party, and found the food better than par.
So we came back in late April for my birthday, and liked it so much that a week later we went there for a Sunday...dinner.
As before, the food was excellent, the service more than acceptable.
There is one thing that is both good and bad about the place: it’s BYOB; good, because you don’t end up paying the exorbitant price one usually pays for a bottle (or carafe, or glass) of wine at any given restaurant; bad, because if you forget (as we had on my birthday), you have to settle for non-alcohol for your drink...which really isn’t all that bad, of course, since alcohol is not a necessity for either of us. And while a glass or two of wine a day is healthy, not having wine every day will not kill you.
Bistro 1051 is just a little pricey, but the food is well worth the price: I have eaten cheaper fare elsewhere that was not at all worth the meager “savings”. And I have eaten meals in NYC for the same or higher prices that were far less satisfying.
So if you want a quiet romantic meal with your significant other, want to celebrate in the company of a group, or just want to sit down to an excellent meal you can enjoy all by your lonesome, this is a place I would recommend without hesitation.
All in all, it is an excellent place with excellent food. We’ve been there three times, and will definitely be coming back.More
