If you like spicy, this place probably has something you will enjoy. Even if you are not they still have plenty of other options. Everything I had here I really enjoyed and would certainly go back. My order was Pork Fried Rice, Mongolian Beef, Sizzling...in Black Bean Sauce Fish, Sizzling in Black Pepper Sauce Scallop, and Dry Pepper Flavor Chicken.More

A recent birthday dinner for a family member brought us here for some very good food. Dan Dan noodles, dumplings, salt baked eggplant, tilapia and bok choy, toothpick lamb, crispy beef. All dishes were very fresh and flavorful and Dan Dan (the lovely hostess) was...very helpful and informative.More

We went a year or two ago and the food was delicious. This time almost everything had to go back and it still came out making you ready to gag. Chicken slices were shaking like wet fatty noodles. Other dishes were swimming in oil. Disgusting...foodMore

I visited Taste of Szechuan today (January 2020) for lunch and it was extraordinary! I got the Mongolian Beef and some spring rolls. I will make an excuse to get lunch here again ASAP.

Let's start with the interior. The interior space is open and modern, and not particularly cramped. Nothing is overbearing and the atmosphere is good as well. The service is good, the waiters and waitresses are neat and efficient. The menu is broad, so there is...a good variety to choose from. The portions and value for them are good too. Serving time is good, you won't have to wait too long for your orders to start coming up. Most important, is the food. The flavors are of genuinely authentic Chinese Szechuan cuisine. The sauces used are good, with no cheap sugar and soy sauce mixtures you might see. Nothing is generally too greasy or dry. The food is great, and it being spicy makes it so much better. The silverware is clean and in good condition. Overall, it's a great restaurant that will be a great place if you want good authentic Chinese goods in a clean and comfortable atmosphere.More

Was in the mood for Chinese. Checked out a few places on line and decided upon Taste of Szechuan. Great choice on our part. When we pulled in to the Liberty Bell Bank Plaza, more like a strip mall, we were a little wary. It...initially looked like mostly a take out place, but we were pleasantly surprised. It had a nice decor and plenty of tables. It was not too busy when we were there, but we did notice that the vast majority of the patrons were of Asian descent. We looked over the extensive menu, and it is, and we decided to start with Fried Pork Dumplings. There are 8 to an order and they are not oversized and mostly dumpling wrapper. A good size to pick up with chopsticks and dip in to the sauce that came with them. For my entree I had the stir fried pork Lo Mein. We also ordered some house special fried rice for us to share. All of the items served tasted fresh, were served hot and were plentiful. There were only 2 waiter/waitresses when we were there, but they did keep things moving along and the service was good. If/when I get back to the Cherry Hill area for business I would definitely go back to Taste of Szechuan and try some of their other offerings. Great little find.More

Three of us stopped in for dinner tonight and we were promptly greeted and seated. The menu is varied and beautifully designed with plenty of dishes from Chengdu, the capitol of Sichuan Province in Southwestern China. We ordered: Dan Dan Noodles, Fu Chi Fei Pian,...Dry Pepper Chicken and the Beef in Hot Sour Pot. The Dan Dan Noodles (Noodles Carried on a Pole or Peddler's Noodles) was delicious, in a very flavorful broth with Sichuan spiced minced pork and chili oil. It was mixed table-side and was perfect. The Fu Chi Fei Pian (Husband & Wife Lung Slices) is not lung, no worries, but instead made up of sliced beef, tendon, beef tripe, cilantro, Chinese celery, peanuts and sesame chili oil. It was also perfectly cooked, delicately scented, delicious thin, tender slices of beef bits in a fantastic Sichuan spicy dressing. Dry Pepper Chicken were crunchy morsels of triple flash fried chicken with long hot and chili peppers. Crunchy, savory, spicy and slightly numbing towards the end of the plate - a typical and traditionally Sichuan flavor profile of scrummyness. Finally, the Beef in a Hot Sour Pot - a large hot pot of soup made of tender beef, pickled vegetable, mushrooms and tomato in a very flavorful slightly spicy, sour broth. The Hot Pot was enough to easily feed four diners, especially with the other dishes that we had ordered but the three of us managed to finish it off as it was so delicious. There is much more on the menu that we all want to try and the dishes are true to the style of Chengdu and Sichuan Province. This is not your run-of-the-mill Chinese restaurant and takeaway. This is an adventure into delicious Chinese regional cuisine. The familiar Chinese-American favorites are well represented as are the less spicy to non-spicy dishes for the less adventurous so there is something for diners of all types at Taste of Szechuan but do yourself a flavor and take a walk on the wild side - you'll be happy you did! I cannot wait to go back and try more authentic, regional Sichuan dishes!More

My family and I have been going to Taste of Szechuan since they opened. My husband works locally and first tried this place for lunch earlier this year and he was pleasantly surprised! The staff are very friendly and the food is always spot on....Some of our favorite dishes are Chengdu dumplings, cumin chicken, crispy eggplant, sautéed string beans, crispy beef, cucumbers in white garlic, etc. We even love the white rice since it’s a different type of grain. It’s fragrant like jasmine rice but has the soft texture of sushi rice. They give you hot tea and iced water upon sitting down at your table. The food comes out hot and fresh pretty quick. Overall the prices are similar to other Chinese restaurants in the area. Highly recommend this place for a great lunch or dinner with your entire family.More

Since the last reviewed visit in August, we have been eating at this great restaurant several more times, and each time it has been an exquisite experience. We have been taking our friends here to introduce them to authentic Szechuan food, and they have been...coming back on their own! Difficult to recommend a specific dish, so far everything we have tasted, from appetizers, to main dishes, and to the chef's specials, has been a delight for tastebuds and eyes! Kudos for the consistent excellence!More

Last weekend we felt we were kind of stuck in a rut and wanted to try something new. I had picked up a Taste of Szechuan menu when we had lunch at a nearby Vietnamese place, and we were intrigued. Taste of Szechuan took over...the space of the former Chen's Asian Grill, a place we had frequented in the past. Other than removing/covering the sushi bar, the new owners kept everything else exactly the same. Same decor, but totally different food! It took us a while to go through the massive menu. We did not go for the pork intestines or frogs legs that, among other dishes, make this restaurant very authentic. We started with the Chengdu dumplings, a generous portion in a delicious spicy garlic sauce and beautiful to look at, too. On to the Mouthwatering Pork, pork belly and cucumber in another spicy garlic sauce, this time with a bit of sweetness. The cucumbers were especially delicious. My husband basically devoured the complimentary kimchi. Our least favorite dish was his entree, shredded pork with peppers--kind of greasy. I chose the casserole of cooked beef brisket, tomatoes, and onions in a curry sauce that had just enough kick to it. Service was good throughout. We arrived around 6 and pretty much had the place to ourselves, but as time went on, Taste of Szechuan began to fill out. The overwhelming majority of diners were Asian. We will be back soon. We definitely want the dumplings again, but then we will try some other dishes. Our only problem will be deciding which ones!More

Ever since "Taste of Szechuan" opended its doors, we have been coming back, often on a weekly basis and have been bringing our friends. This is hands-downthe best authentic Szechuan food we have had in the USA, it rivals very good restaurants in Chengdu!!! Whatever...we have tried (and we have tried much of the ample, varied menu) has been extraordinarily tasty, well-prepared and beutifully served. This is a must-try for those who have yet to discover this gem of a restaurant ! Kudos to the owners and the staff!More
