On a weekend getaway, we wanted one "high end" dinner and got several recommendations for Union Park. We liked the 3 course price fixed menu and were able to get reservations. It was bustling when we arrived but were given a choice for inside or...outside. We sat inside, which was busy, but tables were empty to allow for distancing and we were by no means uncomfortable. It's BYOB and we came prepared. I had the crab cake appetizer and the Lobster Tail dinner, and they were both amazing. My husband had the foie gras appetizer (for an upcharge) which he said was excellent. For his main course, he had the filet mignon (also an upcharge), and the steak was perfect....incredibly tender and moist, and cooked exact. All of that upcharging allowed us an extra appetizer and we had the beet salad, also very good. The Creme Brulee dessert was average but fine, but the fruit tart was a treat. The fruit was served on a large phyllo dough-like pastry...very flaky and really good. Normally fruit tart crust is heavy, but this was very light. Union Park was an absolute home run in our book, and a guaranteed return visit the next time we visit.More

My wife and I had dinner on the Union Park porch after reserving an outside table. We were well into the meal before I realized that several of the servers moving around the porch were wearing only face shields and not face masks. From that...point on, I was very uncomfortable knowing that aerosol from these servers was being directed down at the us, the diners, sitting at the table as they talked. When I brought this to the manager’s attention, he stated that New Jersey state law does not differentiate between face shields and face masks. Because of this, when some of his servers wish to wear only face shields, he cannot make them wear masks. Although the food and service was good, my meal was spoiled by the discomfort caused by this situation. Face shields are designed to protect the wearer from airborne droplets and spray, but they do not keep the wearer from inhaling airborne aerosol nor from discharging their own aerosol, as face masks do. I certainly will not return to Union Park while this situation exists, and I will be wary of any other New Jersey restaurant that has servers wearing only face shields.More

We vacation in Cape May every year, and each year we dine at the Union Park restaurant. Their food has always been very good, as it was this year. However, when we booked our reservation there was no mention that they had changed their service...to a fixed price, limited menu. We were disappointed to learn about this only after we had been seated. The starting price is $60/person for 3 courses, however, many of their specialties come with an uplift charge (i.e. $22 extra for 6 oysters). We thought their pricing was excessive. Service also seemed faster than normal, potentially because the first course or two may have been prepared in advance by virtue of a limited menu. In addition, while they offer both indoor and outdoor seating, it did not appear that they followed social distancing guidelines outdoors. We felt more comfortable eating inside.More

We spent four nights down in beautiful cape may and this was our last night so we decided to save it for the end of the week as was recommended. It's a lovey romantic restaurant and although we forgot to bring wine it was fine...- we didn't want to drink a whole bottle anyway since we aren't big drinkers. Food was very good but the portions were a bit on the small side for $60 price fix. Service was great - not sure I would go back and I felt $156 with tip was overpriced.More

We went for our anniversary and had the prix fixe menu. We were seated inside on the porch and the ambiance was great with proper social distancing. Our reservation was for later but we stopped by early and they took us right in. ( 6:30...and had 8:45 reservation). It’s a BYOB so we got to bring our favorite wine. We had the crab cake and tuna tartare for appetizers, lobster tails and scallops for the main course, and the fruit tart and creme brûlée for dessert. All were delicious! Service was excellent. We had a great evening. Will go back!More

We sat inside at a socially distanced table and ordered from the Price Fix menu. Portions were plentiful. I chose the the Burratta appetizer, Scallops dinner and Fruit Tart for dessert. My companions had Crab cakes, Caeser Salad, Short ribs and Creme Brulee. The service...and food was excellent! Will return!More

As we called to cancel reservation because no uber/lyft was available, owner arranged for transportation to the restaurant. To my surprise, the owner himself picked us up. We were not to be disappointed. Eating on the balcony we took in the background music while facing...the ocean promenade. The food was equally enjoyable. Overall a great experience and expectations were clearly exceeded. P.s. the open sign on the fudge store does not mean they are actually open. It didn't matter because dessert at Union Park was great.More

Excellent and reasonably priced pick up service in Cape May. Scallops and tomatoes were done just right and well seasoned. Duck breast was an outstanding cut cooked just right. Lobster was well prepared and nicely accompanied by a lobster risotto. Desserts were excellent, particularly Dark...Chocolate Brownie. Social distancing was a little close, but it was a breezy, beautiful night so I was not worried.More
