The food was pretty good, drinks were very good and service as prompt and friendly. The restaurant was filled during lunch. I think it is a little expensive for what it is.

We discovered excellent food and service at this restaurant, even when some other local restaurants had long waits. The ambience, while pleasant, has an older, perhaps more traditional feel. The bar was closed when we visited, so the restaurant was nice and quiet for our family visit. The French onion soup was a big highlight. They did not bring bread... More

Lunch stop on a December afternoon after Christmas. Bartender was so NOT into his job that a waitress ran over to see if we needed help. Two other patrons were at the bar, and perhaps 3 tables were occupied. Very limited offering of beers on tap, or in the bottle for that matter. Watery wine, and food was so-so, at... More

We found our way into Carney's during our weekend stay as we were on our way to another restaurant in the area. It was freezing cold and it looked like a casual warm place to get a beer and a good meal...and not expensive! We've eaten at many of the fine dinning places in Cape May and for the most... More

We decided a small place would be best for our last night in town. We were very happy we stopped by. Food was awesome!! I got the ribs with French fries & green beans. Ribs were falling off bone as described in menus. Fries were perfectly cooked so were beans. Husband had the clams & linguini over red sauce. He... More

We have been in Cape May celebrating our 25th anniversary. On our anniversary we went to the upscale restaurant in the hotel. It was good then I found a hair under my prime rib. That's a never again place. Next we went to an Irish restaurant. That was a never again also We found Carey's by looking online saw their... More

Fish taco's were ok, Fish and Chips had soggy fish. Fries (including Sweet Potato) were good. The wait staff was really nice and attentive. Deserved the over 20% tip we left, but not for the food.

Stopping at Carney’s was a happy accident. We had walked down Beach Avenue with the intention of having lunch at a different restaurant. When we discovered that place was closed for the season (wish owners would update info on their websites!) and being quite hungry, my husband and I agreed to eat at the first open restaurant we came to.... I enjoyed the turkey dinner and my daughter enjoyed the ribs. Both cooked on site. Service was great. Pub style atmosphere. Bar service.

After arriving at Cape May, we walked to this restaurant on Beach Avenue from our hotel. It was not crowded, I assume because of the time of day. My husband ordered a burger, and I got a Cobb Salad. The hamburger was very large and had to be cut to be eaten. The Cobb Salad was very pretty, and each... More
