We've reviewed before, and to demonstrate how much we like it here, we're doing it again! Excellent food, great service, nice colonial historic ambiance. We've been here for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and have never been disappointed. Food selection suits our taste and needs, portion sizes are just right. The menu is locally sourced for the most part and farm... More

We stopped in the Blue Pig for lunch. We were not starving so we only ordered appetizers. The calamari was the best that I've ever eaten. The breading was so light and tasty. The mac and cheese was delicious also! I would recommend both. Excellent food! Reasonable prices.

Went for breakfast after not returning for 1 year. We sat outside and had a fabulous breakfast! The food was served hot and a feast for the eyes. Poached eggs over homemade bread with a lemon sauce. Coffee was sooooooo good. I have a tendency to be very forgiving during the season because I know they are busy but the... More

It's not a snooty place, but it does have a more sedate atmosphere. There's a downstairs bar also and not as pleasant as the upstairs one, it's a fun place. Service is very good at both and pleasant. Drinks are OK, not the best. But that's just a personal taste statement. It seemed like others were enjoying theirs nicely. The... More

In quoting Groucho Marx, I am necessarily thrown back in time, and how apropos for this venue. After all, The Blue Pig is situated on the grounds of the oldest sea side resort in the USA as they are delighted to advertise. The atmosphere is a mashup of intimate pubby and high ceilinged Mrs. Havershamesque fading formality. Very much in... More

Food was very fresh and delicious. Our server Flossie was very kind and very attentive. I had the clams on the half shell they tasted like they had just been picked from the water. The crabcakes were truly lump crabmeat. I am very particular about crabcakes I hate when there's a lot of filler and these did not have a... More

Food ordinary, crowded and very noisy, Arrived before dinner rush and requested non occupied table. We were informed table was taken and that table remained open for over an hour.

This restaurant is part of the Congress Hall Hotel, which is an amzing building just a few steps from the Washington St Mall. It's close to, if not fine dining and we broke the golden "no eating where they have table clothes" rule when choosing to take our two young boys here. Was worth bending the rules a little, the... My husband and I went here for the first time at the recommendation of a friend. We loved the historic feel and the staff was very friendly. We were seated right away and our order was taken in a timely manner. After that the experience was not as pleasant. We had to ask for drink refills several times, our appetizer... More

Description
The Blue Pig Tavern serves American cuisine-nostalgic, simple and fresh. Executive Chef Jeremy Einhorn has implemented a delicious farm-to-table menu featuring fresh produce, herbs and eggs from our very own Beach Plum Farm, located less than 2 miles from the restaurant! In the warmer months, dine on our wonderful, secluded patio. In the cooler months, cozy up to our magnificent dining room fireplace. The Blue Pig Tavern drives its name from a gambling parlor sited at Congress Hall in the mid 1800's. Earlier still, in the 1700s, Elias Hughes operated a tavern for whalers on this site. It was the first tavern in Cape May.
