What a beautiful restaurant from the outside and then to the inside! We ate at the bar, with an attentive bartender(s) and enjoyed cocktails and then the wine list. The bar was just perfect for conversation and I always thing think that the service is a bit better there since the bartenders like increased tips from food sales. We chose... More

Washington Inn is a true 5 star restaurant. From the moment we walked up to the entrance to the moment we left, we were treated as special guests. We took the Cape May Free Rides, but if you drive they have have valet parking. I started with the octopus salad which was delicious and different than any octopus salad I'd... More

What can I say? Second time here was just as enjoyable as the first time 2 years ago. Jimmy was super friendly and helpful. We were seated in the basement/wine cellar which was actually very nice. Ordered the mussels special. Not many of them, but they were large and the broth was tasty. I had the crab cakes which were... More

This place is a must! If you are in Cape May, and if I could tell you to go to any restaurant it would be this one!! My husband gets the swordfish every time (we go once a year), and he is NOT a repeat eater. Usually he wants to try a new dish, but he loves this dish so... More

Washington Inn is five stars in every respect. The wait staff is very professional; get up from the table for 10 seconds, and they will leap in to refold your napkin. People in our party had pork chops, swordfish, and duck. The swordfish was served with calamari, and was exceptionally tasty. Appetizers were French onion soup and crab cakes. They... More

For the caliber and fine dining experience that The Washington Inn claims to be, we were left a little disappointed. The wait staff made amateur mistakes that are acceptable at a local diner, but not acceptable at a fine restaurant. Also, we left without having desert because of the insufficient air conditioning. The temperature in the dinning room was insufferable.... More

Can you say Happy Hour! Mo.-Fr. Starting at 5P the most unpretentious Happy Hour at the Wine Bar. Because people come and go, it is not difficult to find a seat. Bar staff is top notch. Nice selection of apps ($1 oysters) and wine.

Nice restaurant with a great staff. Parking is difficult, so use the valet service. The early bird dinners are a good value as the prices are a bit high, though this is located in a tourist area. We had the early bird pork loin which was done perfectly, as were the sides. The desserts were wonderful.

Had dinner here on Sunday July 3rd, we eat here every year July 4th weekend when we come to Cape May. It is the best restaurant in town. Everything is top notch. The bartenders make great craft cocktails & are so friendly & polite. We took another couple that had never been & they loved it too. The steaks were... More
