This is our usual spot for special occasions. It's a Victorian mansion from the outside but with several nicely decorated dining areas inside. We've never had a disappointing meal, and have come to expect to spend a few extra dollars, but it's worth it. Highly recommended.

The Washington Inn is a must when visiting Cape May. I swear every time i visit, it's even better than the last time. Our waiter was impeccable, with a dry sense of humor we enjoyed to the fullest. His wine pairing advice was stellar and the food followed suit. I chose Poached Pears and Fillet Mignon, and my companion had... More

A small party of family and friends ate there in mid August to celebrate a birthday. We were instantly met by well mannered valets and comfortably ushered into the center hall. The charm of the historic home enveloped us immediately. Diverted to the authentically old bar for a few minutes, we enjoyed watching the seasoned pros mix up the patrons'... More

We had an okay meal, but I was expecting something more special. We had a reservation later in the evening, but service was a little slow. Also, had to ask for water to be refilled. (Maybe I'm picky, but at this level of restaurant, I should not have to ask). I had crab cakes for dinner. They were okay, but... More

Washington Inn is a class act. It's in a lovely house, with an elegant interior, a great wine cellar and multiple dining rooms that provide a variety of dining experiences. (If you value quiet, be careful - some spaces are on the loud side.) To start, we had the special corn soup and heirloom tomato salad with feta - both... More

Elegant and quaint dining experience. We had an 8:00 reservation and were seated within a couple of minutes. The food was fabulous. I had the lamb chops and my husband had the duck. We split a crab cake for an appetizer and it was all lump crab meat-no bread fillers. My only negative comment - I originally called for a... More

We had a wonderful meal at the Washington Inn. We did have a wait for our table even though we had reservations. Godfrey was a terrific waiter-- lots of fun interacting with him. 14-ounce South African lobster tail was amazing, but yikes it was pricey! Had plenty to share with the others at our table. Drinks, appetizers, salads, main course,... More
