Stopping in for a light snack and cup of tea after the house tour, we were disappointed with the small amount of choices. We were there about half hour before closing, so mentioned that we would just want tea and a small treat. The staff was not friendly, surroundings not very elegant, no single slices of cake or scones listed.... More

The atmosphere is nice (outside under a tent) but the food was pretty mediocre. I ordered chicken caesar salad and the chicken was very dry and didn't taste like it had been cooked very recently. The dessert was $7 and it was very small. So you will spend a lot and come away unsatisfied with the quality and the amount... More

If you want to try something different for lunch, try the Carriage House Cafe and Tea room, where you can enjoy everything from a real English tea lunch to Kobe beef sliders and turkey sandwiches to salads. All are wonderfully fresh and delicious. My friend and I wanted to try the sliders and sandwich so we shared half, both come... More

I went to this tea room with my family of five adults. Sheila was our server and was extremely friendly and accommodating! We ordered two of the teas for two at $30 each and there was enough for five to be sufficiently full. The soups, sandwiches, salad, and desserts were all delicious! The chef even stopped by for a relaxed... More

Most visitors to Cape May have seen or passed by the Physick Estate - a house museum. Few know about the small cafe on the grounds. We had lunch there after our tour of the house and were very pleased.

After touring the grounds and mansion, you might be hungry. This little place offers tea sandwiches and other fare. The prices are a little high but the quality is there. Service is very good and you can choose to eat inside or outside.

This cafe and tearoom is very quaint and especially historic. We ordered full afternoon tea with one pot of English Breakfast and one of their fabulous Carriage House Tea. It's flavorful and fragrant. The salad was good, scones were tasty, and desserts were amazing! The sandwiches could have been better. The service was friendly, especially considering the pressure they seemed... More

The Carriage House is classic elegance for lunch or tea. Food is extremely good and service is good also. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the meal. If only it was a shorter walk from the center of Cape May! But it is a pleasant walk to worth the effort.

I was not impressed with the food. The Turkey and Swiss on a Croissant was rather carelessly put together, in my opinion. Tastewise it was not bad, but certainly not above average. It was accompanied by a small salad of greens, grape tomatoes and sliced onion. The sandwich was served with a small bag of chips. A bag of chips!?... More

This building was where the estate kept the horses and carriages. We did not eat here, but it looked very inviting. I am reviewing it because it has a lovely gift shop and also has some paintings on display, So if you do not go into the Emlen Physick house, which I do recommend, you could still visit the carriage...
