Our motel was just across the street from Harry’s and had a lovely balcony table making take out an attractive option .The woman who took our order was right on the money when she advised “come back in 30 minutes “ (also easy to do as we were right across the street) The Thai curry sauce was delicious with the mussels over linguini, but a fair number of the large sized order of mussels, were unopened. The “summer salmon” over orzo was grilled and tender. Not everything was great as our order did not include plastic cutlery we realized upon opening it at the motel. The wait for tables on the roof deck looked interminable so we were glad to have the easy take out option.

Hi Rob C, Thank you for providing us some feedback about your takeout experience. Take-out has obviously become very popular (with everything going on) and we are still tweaking it. Everyday we are learning how to better our system and create a better guest experience. We'll make sure to share this with our team. Thank you for your patronage. Cheers, Harry's Mgmt Team

So the good news first . We had dinner here at the bar , as there was a 45 minute wait for a table in the outdoor dining area . Nice selection of beer on tap , served nice and icy cold . Food took a while to come , but it was prime time on a Saturday so that was to be expected . Steak Frites was served with the steak sitting atop a mound of crispy fries and some pieces of asparagus . All were very good . My wife’s seafood pot pie was equally tasty so we enjoyed both . However for the amount of food in the seafood pot pie , 26 dollars is insane . Also the steak frites was served like they serve at a Guy Fiers restaurant ; it looks big but the amount of meat is really small and they pile on the fries to hopefully fill you up . We left hungry . Again big thumbs up for the quality , but I would rather be charged more and have a really good portion of food than being charged a lot for what you get and still be hungry . Next time I will get the burger which I am sure would be great at les than half the price and would be more filling .

Harry's was right next to our hotel, so it was a convenient spot for us to check out. Day 1, we'd hoped to have a few drinks there before a dinner reservation in town. They would not let us sit in the covered outside area as we were not ordering food. They offered in door bar seating, but that was too close for comfort and no guests had masks on...pass. We sat outside on the picnic benches; with the umbrella up it was not bad. Drinks were good...crushes and beer. Day 2, wanted a drink/to share a snack. The outdoor seating area was socially distant and servers wore masks. I felt service was a bit slow getting started however. We shared New England clam chowder which was very good (could have been hotter temp wise) and a soft pretzel with beer cheese/grainy mustard. The pretzel is huge and was warm and soft. We did not care too much for the beer cheese, but the grainy mustard was delish! I ordered a Pina Colada/banana mix frozen drink, and it had almost no banana flavor Pretty good place for what we wanted.

Hi Famontherun, Thank you for joining us twice during your Cape May vacation. This season has definitely dealt us some hurdles to jump and we appreciate you understanding that all of our tables are for dining service. We know people just want to stop by for drinks too, so our take-out area helps satisfy that. Sadly, our limited seating has forced us to make adjustments to our normal service. We do appreciate your honest feedback and are happy to hear you felt safe and comfortable with our procedures. Cheers, Harry's Management Team

Harrys does not accept reservations and we were told there was a long wait for a table. The hostess strongly encouraged us to either eat at the bar or order take out and eat our food at one of outside tables. Since there was no room at the bar we ordered at the outside bar. Despite picking our food within seconds of being called it was cold and had clearly been sitting out for quite some time. The crab, spinach, and artichoke dip was especially unappetizing cold. The grilled chicken in my sesame ginger salad was also cold. It was not fun eating out of plastic and using plastic utensils. In addition, the outside tables are right be the road which does not make for a nice ambiance. My suggestion is to wait for a table (the wait was much shorter than we were quoted) or take the food home because at least then you could warm it back up. This ended up being one of several disappointing dinners in Cape May.

Hi njdixiedarling, We want to apologize about your experience at Harry's. It's obvious we missed the mark and reading reviews like this made us realize we needed to make some adjustments. You can imagine we are thrilled to be back to a some-what normal dining experience as we had before the pandemic. We are so thrilled that so many guests have been excited to come back and join us at Harry's . There were some things we attempted last year that were successful and we tried to apply them for this season. Last year threw us for a curve and even though this year has been relieving, there are still challenges that we face. Due to these factors and experiences like yours, we have suspended our take out food operations. It was not an easy decision, however as we transitioned back to our normal operations, we learned that certain experiences weren't up to our expectations. We apologize again and we hope for the opportunity to provide you with a much better dining experience. The Harry's Management Team

In spite of what rating this restaurant has previously garnered, my party overall was disappointed. For starters, we had to wait at least 15 minutes before a server approached our table. He asked if we wanted drinks and left to get what was ordered. Upon return he took our food order and it took an inordinate amount of time before he returned. None of the food came out hot. One dish (Scallops) was cold, one of the burgers which was Ordered medium rare was raw, another burger was somewhat overdone and the fourth dish was a salad which was ok. The server spoke too softly and was hard to understand but he did the best he could. Overall, not a good experience and as a result, will not be back.

We recently had lunch at Harry's. We had such a great time, the food and the service was very good. Ashley took great care of us. The meat and cheese board was really good and the location is perfect, we were able to look out over the beach and ocean. The hostess is another story. We had never been before so we didn't really know the difference between upstairs and downstairs. We approached the hostess stand to ask for seating upstairs and was told 45 min. we were never told that rail and bar seating was first come/first serve. We waited the 45 minutes and returned to the stand. We specifically asked about bar seating this time and was told that anything downstairs was first come first serve. We asked if there was a bar upstairs and they said yes, that any seating upstairs needed to be on wait list. I walked upstairs just to check it out and the waitress that met us told us that we could sit anywhere along the rail or at the bar. I told her we were told we had to wait and she didn't understand why. My husband returned to the hostess stand to take our names off the list and inform them that the bar seating upstairs and along the rail were first come first serve and the 2 girls just gave him the blank stare. So, for anyone looking for a bar seat or a seat at the rail, just take a walk up and check it out before putting your name in. We could have been seated 45 minutes sooner. Definitely would recommend to anyone. The location is perfect!!!!

Hi Scrapbooker_in_PA, Thanks for your taking time to provide us with some feedback about your visit to Harry's. We are thrilled to hear that your loved the food and service. We are also thankful for not letting the situation with our hostess staff affect the rest of your visit. We are sadly dealing with staffing issues (as most places are) with many staff members being brand new to Harry's and to the restaurant industry. We are working hard to correct these situations and we hope the next time you visit, you'll be able to see our progress. We have brought up your comments to our management staff and front of house team to adjust our approach for our hostesses. Thank you for your patronage! Cheers, The Harry's Management Team

I went to Harry’s with 5 other people. All of out food was great, except the fries were not seasoned. Someone had gotten the fish sticks, which also needed salt. I had gotten the scallops and crab dish with garlic mash and green beans, which was delicious! The drinks were very good too. We sat on the rooftop and listened to live music while having a beautiful view of the ocean. We went to Harry’s again a few days later for a snack around 9 PM. We got calamari, which were soggy with extra thick breading. We took the breading off and tried the calamari, but it was very rubbery. We also got fries that were greasy and limp. Waste of money that time. Maybe because they close at 10:00, but that’s not a good excuse. I may try it again sometime, but not late at night.

We are frequent visitors to Cape May but have always stayed in Wildwood for our lodging. A bit of happenstance with our hotel reservations (see our other reviews) put us in Cape May for the whole week. Harry's is our new "Happy Place"! There is NOTHING on the menu isn't top notch! A NE Chowder that is not only award winning in Southern Jersey but as a bit of a "Chowder Hound" I'd put up against Chowdahs from my home in CT all the way up the coast to Maine. The "Crushes" are amazing in the adult beverage category and the Key Lime tastes like a whole bite of Pie not just a lime! The staff had to handle a huge crowd along with Covid 19 rules and did so with ease and attention to each guest that outshined most of the other establishments on the Cape. If you are going to Cape May be sure to stop for their Anniversary "Decade Crush" and a Bowl of Chowder!

Hi The Trupps, We love to hear that Harry's is your "Happy Place". That's exactly what we want it to be. The Decade Crush is new this year and a percentage of our proceeds will be going to some local and national charities, who have been affected greatly due to the pandemic. Thank you for your comments regarding our COVID-19 Procedures. We have worked hard to make the necessary adjustments to serve our guests in a safe and healthy environment. We hope to have you dine with us again soon! Cheers, Harry's Mgmt Team

Unfortunately we probably won’t be going back for breakfast here. There was no kids menu. With a 3 & 5 yr old there was not any options for them. The waitress said she can bring out plain French toast so the menu only had banana fosters. I hate to complain about prices anymore these days but $14 for French toast (2 slices of bread) was a little ridiculous. It was not the same as the bananas foster. The menu is geared more towards adults with items having bold flavors. If you you have young kids, look at the menu first or avoid here for breakfast. Service was good, all else was satisfactory.

Don't believe the promotional pictures on-line. Food was not that plentiful, not served warm and was way overpriced. The Jumbo Shrimp and Colossal Crab - Not so jumbo nor colossal. The four medium to small sized shrimp and just a few pieces of crab meat did not match the expectations. Oyster Platter was good but significantly more expensive than the restaurant we ate at the night before. Dinner ok. Nothing great. Those of us that had burgers/chicken sandwiches had cold insides while the bus were rock hard like they had been baking under the heating lamps for hours. I was told by the two people who had the lobster rolls that some of the filling appeared to be imitation crab/lobster meat as opposed to the real thing. Best part about dinner was dessert. Try the graham cracker slam gelato! Lastly, shout out to our server Mike who was super busy managed to remain attentive and on top of things even though you could see he was being pulled in a million different directions.

Didn’t want to deal with the COVID situation and number of people in town the weekend of our visit, instead we ordered carry out on a Friday night. Was pleased with ordering drinks from the bar direct to save $$$ and the carry out food was hot and delicious. A repeat performance on Saturday night was delivered by the staff on our second visit. If you’re looking for good pub grub and a fun vibe with an oceanfront view, here’s where it’s at.

We made reservations for Easter based on their brunch menu that was posted the Friday before Easter. We had reservations for noon. We arrived at 11:45. We were seated outside in the tent when the dining room was empty. We were given breakfast menus. We asked for brunch menus and were told it’s breakfast until 12 and then lunch after 12, no brunch. We all had to either agree to have breakfast or lunch and we couldn’t order off both menus! The manager came out to tell us the same thing. There was no music and nothing special for Easter. We all agreed to have breakfast. The brioche French toast was 2 slices cut in half and my $4 side of sausage was a small thin slice of sausage that you could find on a Wawa breakfast sandwich. Highly disappointing for the price we paid. Won’t go back. Thumbs down for manager and menu.

Harry's is a great spot to stop for a good lunch/Dinner I highly recommend a reservation or arrive early for their upper level bar and dining which I believe that area is first come first serve. Great blueberry sangria to start with and some some appetizers some wings, fries and the last is totally escaping me all were very good. On to the lobster roll and shrimp po boy which I split and both were terrific. Some Lobster rolls even if good it is a small portion but not this one. You pay for what you get and this was delicious and filling. The dining on the 2nd level has a great bar and entertainment at least on all the days we walked by. Worth the visit for sure.

Hi truck2chief, Thanks for the awesome feedback!! We hate when we see a Lobster Roll for $25- $30 and it comes on a hot dog bun. We want our guests to see the value, especially for a higher end menu item like our lobster BLT. Also, anything with bacon also helps!! We appreciate your patronage and hope to have you dine again with us soon! Cheers, The Harry's Management Team

Although my pretzel was delicious the mussels had a few that were not open, very smelly and the few eaten had a lot of sand. They did give us a $15 gift card but would have preferred eating them. Burger bland. Drinks just ok, stick with beer. View is nice and service was good but won’t be back unless for a beer.

Harry’s is on the same property as the Montreal Beach Resort we stayed at, so it was very convenient. We had lunch and it was pretty good fare considering price was reasonable (beach resort reasonable) service was good . Not an extensive menu but just the right things for lunch. Full bar and Liquor store. Definitely worth a try.
