It must be nostalgia, because for the life of me I can't understand why anyone would go there. I think I would try a Burger King Hot Dog before eating another one of their absolutely tasteless hot dogs. Or maybe it is the place to go when you only have two dollars and need food. My hot dog was almost... More

I have been going to this hot dog stand for many years and thru several changes of owners. The current owners have been there now for awhile and make some delicious fresh hot dogs. Their volume of business insures freshness all the time. The only downside is the chili seems to be of commercial grade rather than home made. If... More

I love street food, and there is no more elemental street food than a hot dog. This is a splendid dive bar of a dog joint, where pale pink dogs are pulled from their water bath, slathered in your choice of condiments and toppings (except ketchup...a sign reminds you that "ketchup is for hamburgers"!), sheathed in a soft bun and... We use to live in Bordentown Twp. For many years we went there a lot. Just seeing Russ Ayres fix your hot dog with his rythmic motion was pure entertainment. All he had at that time 50+ years ago was a hot dog cart not even a mile away from where it is now. It's now a little shack..love the... More

Limited parking today. Apparently this place is so popular that there was either a family reunion or a wedding reception there today. Seriously, music, pictures, family dog. Anyway, the place is cool, very nostalgic. But you can't eat cool nostalgia. Regular hot dogs, boiled and served on regular supermarket hot dog rolls with the standard toppings. If your supermarket is... More

This place is great. Russ Ayers started a good thing. Now the owners do a great job like he did. But he had the special move fixing your dog. But still have good dogs.

Went there today for the first time. Figured they had been at this location for many years so it must be good. Boy was I wrong. If you like pale-colored, soggy hot dogs cooked in water then you might like them. They tasted like cheap hot dogs you would get from a dollar store. I didn't even eat half of... More

This place is famous the owner started as a push cart in Conney Island. The same cart still exists only now it is in the building. Limited selection but all are great with the usual dog toppings. very friendly many regulars. just a few stools inside but many picnic tables for warm weather outdoor dining. Most ate take out but...
