I had a long lunch here last month with a group of friends. Always a great time when we get together. I'd never been to this pub before and probably won't return. Let me start with the pluses. The service was friendly and attentive; the...beers were really different and really good. If you're coming for a few drinks and some socializing, I'd recommend Old Town Pub. I had the very last glass of a beer that featured tangerine as one of its primary ingredients. It was wonderful. I wish I could say the same about the food. Two of us had the Oktoberfest special platter, which was a huge disappointment. The beed was dry as a bone, and the sausages were okay, but their flavors were nothing special. The menu said "potato pancakes," but they turned out to be tater tots. Definitely false advertising. The friend who had one of the sausages in a sandwich didn't like her meal very much either. One of the guys had the Cuban sandwich, which he found to be small and not very impressive. We were in agreement that the best item we'd ordered was the pretzel. That pretty much says it all. So, if you're looking for gourmet delights, you'd best look elsewhere.More

Nice little place in the quaint town of Bordentown. Bar/Pub food. Good happy hour menu and you do not need to be at the bar to order from that menu. Reasonable prices. Food pretty good. Had the happy hour sampler. Came with plenty of food...and dips. the cheesesteak eggroll is super good and so was the mozzarella stick (not typical). The fries were more like chips but very good.More

Love this old historic bar, used to be the Farnsworth House. The beer selection is awesome, 30 taps with about a dozen of them local Jersey beers. The food is great, but I come for the homemade tater tots with dipping sauces. You can't beat...the wings either.More

Our Friday adventures continue in Bordentown, NJ. This restaurant downtown is among many restaurants and shops. Parking on the street is impossible so it’s better to valet your car. Maybe. They use an app to let patrons request their vehicle after dining or shopping. Unless...they can’t find where they put the vehicle. It took more than 15 minutes to our car. Not cool 😎 The food at the restaurant was slightly above average. The cheesesteak egg rolls were tasty but they limited the amount of sauce. The shrimp tacos and Cesar salad were not tasty. Frankly we have had better at the shore and elsewhere. What was outstanding was the double cheeseburger with hardy bacon, onion and aioli sauce. The French fries 🍟 were phenomenal but again the amount of sauce was limited. Overall, it was an uneventful evening. This was not what we expect for a dining experience.More

Took a long time to have my order taken. The food runner at first brought my order to a table of 4. A single appetizer… why wouldn’t you first bring to the one table with a single diner? Crab cake tasted fine, but came with...a teeny salad and not the promised Asian slaw. Overpriced and sloppy presentation. Unsweetened iced tea tasted burnt. Took a long time to get the check. Never again.More

It was a clod rainy Sunday, and we were to meet my Brother and Sister-in-law for lunch halfway between our homes. Bordentown, NJ. Having worked in the general area I immediately thought of Bordentown because of its quaint Revolutionary and seafarer's history. This town has...gone through a is quite a renaissance in the past years and nowhere else does this renaissance show than at the Old Town Pub located at 135 Farnsworth Ave., Bordentown, NJ. Parking was not an issue here. We were able to park in the street, but there is ample parking in a parking lot adjacent to the Pub. We were a little early, but the hostess took us right to our prepared table. The table for was clean and set perfectly with a plastic sealed Bulleit whiskey bottle filled with cold water. We sat for a bit and the waiter took our drink orders. The craft beer inventory was rather extensive. If one does not know their beer, I would suggest a taste as some craft beers can be somewhat hoppy. I picked the Lunch IPA from Maine Beer Company. I was expecting a pint, however, I was educated that because of the 7% ABV -12oc glasses were required. My wife had a Bloody Mary and was well satisfied and she did order a second. We struck up a conversation with the owner who was friendly and open and enthusiastic about his pride & Joy. We spoke about COVID and the lack of seats at the extensive bar was sad. Did I mention the Bar? Unbelievable, this back bar was straight out of the distant past with hundreds of bottles of libation from just about everywhere. I could imagine a weary traveler getting off the stagecoach and waking into the bar and ordering rum or an ale. Once my brother and his wife arrive the festivities began. We started with a "Loaded Potato Chip Plate. The chips were house-made and were crispy chips of flavor, however, that was where it stopped, the sparse cheddar and relatively scarce bacon bits with drooled sour cream made this appetizer blah. Another round of drinks and we placed our orders. My wife ordered the Lobster Mac & Cheese, my sister-in-law ordered the Shrimp Parm, my brother the chicken tacos and I ordered the French Dip. While we sat and enjoyed the atmosphere, and the ambiance patrons came and went as this place is quite popular. It was not loud, but just nice to hear people enjoying themselves. The entree's arrived. The Lobster Mac was a perfect amount piled high in a small cast iron frying pan. My wife said it was scrumptious. The Shrimp Pram was presented beautifully with a generous portion of linguini. She gobbled it up, so it must have been good. My brother's chicken tacos and side salad looked like I might have made a mistake with the always safe French Dip. Three soft tacos packed with chicken and topped with slaw and dressing. My French Dip was Just OK. The portion of beef was a bit stingy but flavor-filled and tender. The frizzled onions were not overpowering and gave just enough taste to accent the sandwich. I could not find the horseradish. The Au Jus was really good; I could have drank a cup of this if it was a bit warmer. The fries were a disappointment. Semi-warm hand-cut and wet with oil, Nah, not for me. After a stay of almost two hours, great drinks and overall, really good food, I would rate this restaurant a good 4 out 5. Oh did I mention, we had the Lobster Mac & Cheese leftovers for dinner. OMG!More

Out of our party of 6, 5 ordered sandwiches or burgers, I got the roasted pork chop dinner. The food was delicious and the waitress was AWESOME.....forgot to get her name, though. All the workers were very nice. We enjoyed ourselves very much.

This review is based solely on one, three-person, lunch. Two of us had the burger(I believe a chuck, brisket, short rib blend) that is coffee rubbed with frizzled onions and melted smoked grayer cheese. The third had the pulled pork with cole slaw. The burger...was simply the best I have ever eaten, and I am 74. The other burger person agreed. My wife loved the pulled pork sandwich with Cole slaw. Simply great pub food on a single visit. Rough but nice outdoor dining area. Service was a tad slow, but we were in no hurry.More

We were able to enjoy another Father's Day at Old Town Pub as restaurants were cleared for outdoor dining during the pandemic. It was a perfect day for outdoor dining and Old Town did not disappoint! We had a table right on the corner with...a perfect view. Our server advised us that the menu was online via your phone. We started off with drinks- Blackberry Whiskey Lemonade which I would order again, Farnsworth Mule and a Root Beer which was brewed on premises and delightful. We also ordered the Quesadillas as an appetizer and it was phenomenal. Main course was BBQ Pulled Pork, Shrimp Tacos and House Made Chicken and Waffles. The BBQ Pork was done perfectly and was also a very generous portion coming with pickles and fries. I sampled the Shrimp Taco and it was very, very good. Daughter said the Chicken Waffles were good. We did not order dessert. I cannot say enough about our waiter. He was constantly checking on us and we felt for him as wearing a mask all afternoon in the warm weather. I cannot honestly say anything negative about our afternoon here and this being our second visit here, the only difference was dining outside and the drink menu was limited due to the pandemic I believe. I strongly suggest reservations for the outdoor dining as we noticed a few people just showed up but were not able to dine due to the limited seating.More

Thoroughly enjoyed the ambience. Dark cozy clean well-decorated place in a small town off the beaten path. Bartenders friendly. Food clean and good. Price is right. Drinks are very reasonable during "happy hour" (up until 6pm?). The mussels in red sauce needed more flavor: cooking...wine, basil, garlic, oregano . . . ? The nachos were okay, nothing really special. But the flavor of their chili is out of this world ! Looking forward to returning: heard that their burger with short rib is really good ?More

Went to Old Town last night with some friends. Our server was in training, but she was very friendly and attentive. I had the 4 Alarm Chili for appetizer. It was pretty good with decent heat, but a bit heavy on the chili powder. The...powder taste dominated it (It's the best way I can describe it, if that makes). All 4 of us had burgers. I had the Mega Man Burger. It was cooked perfectly and it was a nice sized burger. The only negative is that it was supposed to have fried jalapeno peppers, but I didn't taste any of them on the burger. The rest of the people really enjoyed their burgers as well. This is our third time here and we would probably go back again.More

After walking in to the partial owner - Trish drinking wine out of a brown paper bag at the Hostess station and telling my GF and I to "wait" without even saying hello I figured this would not be a good experience. I had higher...expectations but none were met. The bar was crowded and had pink strobe lights spotting the room with a quiet female singing elevator music - ambience didn't match the room. Service was slow and poor, once our food came out waitress disappeared. We ordered a chicken entrée with potatoes and veggies. The entire plate tasted like a salt shaker. My order of shrimp tacos tasted fine however I was left wondering where the shrimp was as the extra dousing of lettuce and veggies on top covers up the 1/4 oz of shrimp per taco. Poor food quality. Drinks were outrageously priced. My GF ordered 2 extremely weak captain morgan and cokes which totaled $27.00. $13.50 for a standard rum and coke? For 13.50$/drink I would expect a belvedere martini. It is clear this establishment does not know how to properly pour drinks let alone price them. Would not return Here...More

I have been to the OTT before and just had soup, salad and a drink which were all just fine. I took my friend there for his birthday. The first thing that was very apparent was the waiter wreaked of BO. This, in itself, was...a total turnoff. Both my friend and I were taken aback. My friend ordered scallops, I ordered salmon. Both were cooked to perfection and looked delicious. Both tasted as if someone took an entire container of salt and poured it on the dishes, ruining the meals. It was barely edible, but we continued to eat thinking maybe it was just one area of the food. I couldnt finish my salty salmon. I told the waiter, who by this time was sweating more as his BO was very pungent. He did tell the chef. The chef came out and my friend and I said the food was good, but he went overboard with the seasoning. The Chef said he only used Old Bay, did he use the entire can up? This has salt in it and only a tiny bit is used. Its a shame because I really wanted my friend to have a memorable dinner. He did, for all the wrong reasons. The chef needs to at least sample what is going out to the floor. Hours later I still feel like I consumed a shaker of salt. The owner did come over, apologized and did give us each desserts on the house. He listened to our concerns. Other reviews indicate the saltiness has been a problem. If the chef is overdoing with the spices, dont use anything with lots of salt. Put salt and pepper on the tables, there were none, and let the customer season their own food to taste. We went here rather than Tuscanos. Very disappointed. $50 for barely edible food. I will not eat a meal here again, maybe a drink and nachos.More
