Nice cozy place with well prepared and authentic dishes.

My son and I stopped in for lunch at this family run restaurant. The decor is all Mexico kitsch, but the service is warm and the food is quite tasty. We enjoyed every dish we had. The thin salsa they immediately served was excellent and the tortilla chips were light and crisp. The menu is quite extensive and is obvious that the cook has been around Latin (Mexican) food for a long while. I will definitely be going back. The cooking is authentic, the matriarch of the family keeps a good vibe going and they are quick on beverage refills and more salsa.

Wonderful food and service

Stopped for lunch and no doubt we will be back, food was great quality and the server was wonderful. Guacamole tasted freshly made. Next time I want to try the enchiladas. Support this local business!

Great Mexican food!

Wonderful family owned restaurant. The food is fantastic and the owners are very sweet people. Highly recommended if you are in the Boonton area for good Mexican food!

Authentic and Fresh

Great Mexican restaurant. Wonderful flavors to everything on the fajitas plater. Service was very attentive and friendly. Total bill was very reasonable .

Good Mexican food

Good food - but not your typical Mexican food. Burrito had “wet” rice in it (tossed in a sauce). Fajita platter had items all mixed together. It’s a small seating area and we did not like the strong smell of the cleaning fluid being sprayed on the tables near us while we were eating.

Daughter’s Baby Shower

Simply the BEST Mexican around!! Jose and Jackie catered my daughter’s shower and the Taco Bar they prepared was the hit of the party. Freshly made and over the top delicious were the comments from our guests. The guacamole and salsa... outstanding! And TACOS! Both hard and soft shells. Chili Willies will always be our go-to Mex/Southwest restaurant.

Service excellent - food very good

Went Thursday for lunch. Restaurant was empty but our server was so nice and attentive that I am sure she would have been that way anyway (if she was not overwhelmed). Food was very good and portions were large. I got the barbeque ribs and fries - clearly not a Mexican dish per se but the BBQ sauce was homemade and excellent - and the fries were surprising excellent also.

Friendly staff and very generous portions

Chili Willies is a cute little place. The tables seemed filled with several return customers. I can see why! The waiters and manager are very friendly and the food was good, with huge portions. I'll return too. The only reason I rated it average is that while well done, it was standard Mexican fare, which is the reason I went there.

GREAT MEXICAN FOOD

This is a small place , maybe 7 tables , personal service is very nice , I went to this place recently and went back 2 more times - The burido cowboy meal - you get a very large burito which not everyone can finish - than had taco's and Enchilada's on my next visits , all meals tasted great - salsa and chips were also very good

Excellent Authentic Mexican

Chili Willies is our favorite TexMex place in North Jersey. It’s a small, homey, family run restaurant where the food is fresh and tasty and the portions are huge. Tonight we had the chicken enchilada platter and the Harvest Moon vegetable burrito: Excellent as always, with the freshest tortillas. This is just the most pleasant place. Take out is available too.

Tex Mex food

Chili Willies is a family owned business with creative, authentic dishes. I have been going there for years and the food is always delicious, fresh, tasty and unique. Typically the food isn't spicy so if you don't like highly spiced food, you will find plenty to chose from. Their flan is one of the best in the area. The owners make all their clients feel welcome. It is a family favorite; we even had a wedding rehearsal dinner there.

Cozy, Friendly and Great Mexican Food! Love it & Jackie!

Love Chili Willies! You are welcomed by the wooden carving of a man with a sombrero standing outside the restaurant. The restaurant itself is a small, cozy, vibrantly decorated room with homemade tortilla chips waiting for you as well as salsa. The menu has so much to chose from and there are also specials. Jackie, the owner, is always there to interact with you with a huge smile and your order, as well as answer any questions or suggestions you may need. The rest of the wait staff is always friendly and helpful. The food is fantastic as well as homemade desserts. Go hungry because the portions are big! BYOB if that’s your thing. They also have a takeout window too! 😃

Great Authentic Mexican Food

It's a small-size restaurant, but the food is absolutely delicious! The decor is adorable and you get your money's worth for the amount of food you order. The food was fresh and extremely tasty.The service was excellent and I would definitely frequent this restaurant more often.

Very good Barbeque!!!

The ribs really do fall off the bone and they are delicious!!! They give you a bowl of yummy authentic tortilla chips and salsa while you wait for your food. Staff is nice and when it comes to barbeque- they definitely know what their doing!!! The food is great!! Family friendly but very very small. Most people get take out for this reason. But the food is YUMMO!!!!!!

Lots of food, good atmosphere

This is a great place to get lots of food and great service. A super small byob, Chili Willies never disappoints. Definitely wear and tear on this restaurant but that gives it it’s true charm. Our group of five was seated right away on a Friday night. Plenty of staff and plenty of food! Beef Tacos and chicken and cheese enchiladas are always a great choice. Enjoy!
