My wife and I both had the meatball parm. Neither of us could finish. We should have split it. Bread was good. Meat was good. Was enough for dinner. Could have used a little more sauce and could have been heated a little more. Have been here before; always decent.Has been there for 80 years. There are those who claim... More

Love the shrimp calabrese! Ask for it over pasta and have it as dinner! Always a great value and lots of delicious choices!

The food at the Tavern is great! Someone talked about the wait, and it is busy, so get there early. It is a small restaurant, and doesn't look like much, but the food is amazing!

If you have heard about the wait...then you have heard right. Yes, you will wait and its mostly worth its weight in the gold equivalent of pasta marinara. When traveling with those who are native to NYC and NJ, its best not to argue Italian food with them. For good reason, they know some very good places to eat, fancy... More

Love to go here but insanely busy during prime time, no reservations, waits could be as long as an hour! But there is a reason. This rustic tavern with linoleum floors and knotty pine walls with decades of laquer has the best pizza this side of the boardwalk. The menu is expansive, the portions sizable and fairly priced. They have... More

Lived nearby my whole life and finally started going here more. The food is great in a very casual anmospher and worth the wait if there is one. Toasted meatballs are a must

Every time I visit New Jersey I make sure to get my fill of Italian food and The Reservoir Tavern is definitely the place to get great Italian food! No matter how hungry you are, don't give into the temptation to fill up on bread because you will want to leave room for the entree (and dessert too!) Eggplant parmigiana... More

Every time I go to NJ, this is a must visit. The food is superb time after time. Usually go for dinner but this time it was lunch. The menu is basically the same but smaller portions for lunch if requested. Don't pass up the Birch Beer on tap! No matter what you order, odds are you will be thrilled.... More

This restaurant has been around for at least 40 plus years. It is not a fancy restaurant but don't let the looks deceive you. They have the best pizza around. The other food is fantastic as well. I had the sausage pizza and chicken franchise . Both were outstanding . This place usually has a wait of about 30 minutes... More
