Great spot! Good burger and cold beer. Nice crowd. Good music. Anyone who has something negative to say about this place has personal problems.

Great food, great people. You must go here. T.V's for all your games. Save our local taverns. We must keep our Bloomfield institutions.

Owner Robin Janes personally welcomes you to her tavern. Full bar, private room in back, very large food menu for a pub. Baby back ribs are a Wednesday and Thursday special. Wonderful and friendly atmosphere.

Thats right, this is the neighborhood drunks bar. It smells like stale beer, sweat and urine. I wouldnt ever consider eating anything at this place. Its just good for a wuick drink, in and out before your clothes take on the stink of the place.

For better or worse, it's what you expect of an Irish pub. Dark, with lots of green. Menu consisting of lots of fried apps and burgers- what we had was good, not great. Respectable selection of beers but again, nothing amazing. The night we visited, the bartender was performing double duty as part of the wait staff. You could do better while in the area, and you could do worse.

I found this to be a nice quiet place to have a drink. Unfortunately I wasn't able to try the food since the kitchen closes from 2:30 to 5:30 pm. The service was nice and friendly.

My family and I have been coming here for years! It's a small, friendly place to get a drink. But we come here for the amazing ribs. Only available Wednesday and Thursday but without question, the tastiest most tender ribs we have ever had!! I even had them made for a special party. Everyone went crazy for the ribs. Check Obal's out. You'll be thrilled with the taste!! Enjoy!!!

Obal's Inn is a great place to be on any night of the week! Monday night is great for football, regard lee of who is your favorite team. Wednesday and Thursday are " Ribs Night!" Obal's has the best ribs anywhere! As the smart people know.... they fall off the bone. Friday is really cool because Obal's is the best kept secret aroud. Chef Keith does specials on a Friday night. You never know what he might cook up. From Mahi Mahi to Raost Duck to Ocktoberfest special plates to Chilean Sea bass you never know.... What you do know is that the food is excellent!!!! And, at a very reasonable price. Obal's is the place ego go to have a good plate of food, a drink of your choice a warm atmosphere where you can hear yourself think. This is what a good local bar is all about!!! Lots of fun for everyone! BTW their burgers are awesome, any night of the week! Go to Obal's, you'll be glad you did!

When visiting NYC we stayed in Bloomfield and found this place by accident, we had already gone into 2 or 3 other places on Broad St. and nobody had good beer, we saw an Irish Pub and assumed there had to be good beer, we walked in explained we where from Portland, OR and needed to drink good beer, the bartender quickly told us the options and we settled for an IPA brewed in New Jersey I believe it was the Flying Fish, very good option, then we looked at the menu and the person next to us advised us to order the ribs, so we did, we had a problem though, they had so many choices of sauces with the ribs we did not know what to get, we ended up getting a very spicy one and believe me it was spicy but good. The meet was super soft it just fell of the bone, it was just delicious, service was good the place was packed and it is a little small but the attitude of the wait staff and bartender was great and we did not mind waiting to get our food and drinks. Like I said, it is a small place try getting in early to get a good place to sit or even a place at the bar, they do have a back room where the pool table is but the front part is much more fun. We did end up going back about two more times.

My dad was an accomplished musician, who sat me down when I was like, maybe eight years old, and explained to me that "There are only two types of music in the world; either good or bad. You'll find out that this relates to anything you do or come upon in life." I've never forgotten that talk and his words have been proven correct a zillion times in my life experiences..Obal's is just good music. Doesn't matter if you even eat there (but go for the ribs if you do!) and definitely stop in for the annual 'Dog Days' celebration which is for a fantastic cause. I love this place, one of my favorites.

My daughter had a surprise birthday party for her boyfriend here. It was set up in the back room (which had a pool table). It is a twenty-thirty something crowd, a good portion with piercings and tattoos. The place catered the party, so I tried the sliders (fair), meatballs (gravy was good) pizza (the best choice) and pigs in the blanket (not a fan). There was keg of beer available for the party. I decided to order a vodka and tonic ($4.50) in the front bar (forgot to put a lime in, or isn't that part of the drink anymore?) Place was pretty crowded, being a Saturday night. It is located next to a McDonald's. I parked on the street, but there was some places to park across in the street at a Bank, etc. I guess if I was a lot younger, this might have been a decent place to hang out, especially if I lived in the neighborhood. There were several TVs for watching sports. Lots of autographed photographs on the walls (I guess that makes it a sports bar). There are booths as well as seating at the bar.
