We hadn't been to Filomena's in easily 20 years until last night. It reminded us of why we didn't miss eating out for 14 months. Mussels were good and a good value at $11.50. My husband's pork for $22 was a large portion but not...particularly well-seasoned. My 4 tiny supposedly seared scallops with cappellini(in a tasty sauce) for $24 was a terrible value. Service was fine. But meh just not worth the money. Nothing very special.More

Saturday night and we were excited to see our friends band and have a nice dinner. Don't do it unless you get there early. Kitchen was closed before 9:00pm.

Since they have reopened after Covid the quality of food is poor and portions are smaller. Have been there recently a few times and very disappointed. Also there are some new bartenders and you can wait at least 15 minutes for them to acknowledge you....They walk around but never make eye contact. Are not attentive. It’s almost like you are bothering them. Will not be going back there.More

We chose this restaurant for our anniversary dinner because they offer a decent sized gluten free menu. It was so exciting to have choices when eating out. We ordered for take out since we are not comfortable dining in at this time. The order was...not ready when promised, it was an extra 20 minute wait. The gluten free pizza was ok, even though they added the wrong toppings. My salad had croutons, so I could not eat that. Then I opened my entree, which I heard my husband order by name and then also mention that it was from the gluten free menu, it was the regular menu version of that meal. They did apologize when I called them and offered to make me a new one which we had to go pick up. They promised it would be ready in 10 minutes, and it actually was. It was delicious but not worth it, and they offered nothing in return for their mistake. If a restaurant is going to offer a gluten free menu, they need to be prepared to take the steps to make sure it is done safely.More

I met a friend at Filomena's Berlin as we had many times in the past. We opted to eat inside since it was a little chilly outside. I was not comfortable with the way the restaurant allowed for social distancing. From what I could see,...there was none. We were seated in a booth in the front of the restaurant. There were other patrons seated at every booth along the windows. The divider between booths was higher than normal, but I could still see the tops of everyone's head. I felt that if anyone sneezed or coughed, that divider wasn't going to be enough. They even had patrons seated directly across the aisle which was probably close to 4-5 feet. So I will not be going back during this pandemic. Just as a side note, the food was just as good as always.More

Not sure if the Covid has affected the business but the food was just ok the quality maybe the passion has gone? I have witnessed an owner conflict while dining I’m sure that reflects the quality I hope they realize the Chef and the Staff...are just as important as learning from mistakes don’t let it be too late to revamp this place. We were tempted to eat outside under the tent but my wife,The Nurse, opted for take-out. Like every other time we've been there the staff was very good to us. We called in our order and by the time we got there it was ready....This is one of our favorite restaurants. The wife's retirement dinner was held here and they treated her like royalty. Plenty of parking. The food was outstanding-as usual!More

We attended a Gender Reveal affair here and it could not have been held at a better place! The food was excellent, the Staff was most accommodating, and the atmosphere made the whole event a success! I suggest that if you are planning any family...event that you look no further than Filomena's.More

I usually don't write reviews but I felt it was something I wanted to do about my recent experience with Filomena's, West Berlin. I booked Filomena's for my husband's 80th birthday and I cannot say enough nice things about this restaurant. Domenica was excellent in...overseeing every detail. Our two servers, Arianna and Matt were very attentive to our guests and made sure they had everything they needed. The food was delicious, kudos to the chef, and the service was over and beyond what was expected. I would highly recommend this venue for any special event.More

Filomena's has always been one of my favorite restaurants to go to. However, I will not be going back there and I will be sure to spread my review across the entire internet so every possible person could see the review before going into the...restaurant. I called to set up a time where I could bring ~30 people for a surprise 60th birthday party. The party isn't going to be for another two months but I wanted to secure my reservation and give the restaurant ample time to do what they need to do before the party occurs. As a college student, I do not have money to afford 20-30 people's entrees and drinks. So, I requested that I could purchase party sized appetizers. I was promptly told "I won't be making money if no one buys dinners and drinks." Instead of being politely told, "No. I am sorry. We don't have appetizer only arrangements for dinner parties." I was told repeatedly that "I won't be making money..." The woman was extremely rude and basically offered little to no advice on how to resolve the issue other than contact my guests and pry information out of each person on whether or not they are going to buy dinners and drinks or not... I realize the restaurant is small and there are only so many guests in the dining area, but when you are completely rude to someone trying to book a party, pay attention to them instead of telling them that they're going to lose money if we don't do entrees and drinks. Now, I know at least half of the guests will order dinners and I am sure that most will order drinks. But that wasn't good enough for them. What happens if you have a funeral and can't give an accurate head count....oh wait....More

Four of visited for what was either a late lunch or early dinner. It wasn't quite their dinner hour but the server checked and said it would be no problem for them to do dinner. We all had a different item but the consensus was...that everything was perfect. Our friends had never been to the restaurant and said that the next time they were in the area it would absolutely be the place they visit again. We all had a pasta dish and it was obvious that the gnocchi was homemade and perfect. Loved the gravies too. Bread served with meal was delicious and warm. The service could not have been more pleasant, helpful or accommodating. We've eaten here in the past for both lunch and dinner and have always had a great experience even when we've visited at very busy times or on holidays. We've also eaten at the other three restaurants owned by these people and have had the same wonderful experience at them too -- great food and service. This restaurant has entertainment many evenings -- combos etc. The atmosphere is comfortable and inviting. Great for a date, special occasion or just a nice dinner out with friends and family or as a couple.More

We had a luncheon here for my mother. We had an overall good experience. Food was awesome! We were in the larger room, but we were only given half the room to be squeezed into with our guests, while the other half sat EMPTY. I...had called a couple days prior to event to see if they were able to provide some kind of easel so I could display something that my guests would see as soon as they entered the room. I was informed that yes they indeed had a standing one and it would be there for me the day of the event. I asked if I would be able to attach a hanging banner to the cake table. And again informed that yes I could do that. I was unfortunately late to the event. When I arrived I noticed that the sign I wanted displayed in the entry to the room on a standing easel was actually just leaning against the window on the window sill. And the "cake table" that I was supposed to be able to hang a banner on was just a regular square table. It wasn't big enough to hang anything on. It barely held my cake I brought and the gift basket. When I asked my mom where the stand was she said she didn't know and it wasn't in the room when she got here. After the food was served, by the 2 servers we had, for a party of about 40, the waiter asked if he could cut the cake. I said sure that would be great. When it came time to pay my family noticed that the bill was WAY HIGHER than we were originally told. After review of the receipt we found out that they CHARGED us to cut the cake, and NOT just once but for EVERY cut!! We were NEVER told that there would be a charge for this. If I knew that I would of either done it myself or not of had one!! The woman did take some of that charge away but not all of it. Needless to say my mother had a great time!! I would definitely consider having another event here. BUT I will definitely either not bring a cake or cut it myself.More
