We stopped for dinner on the way back from the shore, and were not disappointed.
Dylan or Dillon was our server, and was very knowledgable, attentive, and professional. He quickly brought us drinks - the ice tea was exceptional- and then explained the specials.
We each tried one of the two soups. Each was tasty; the chicken orzo was flavorful with out being too salty.
My wife had the Ceaser salad with grilled shrimp. I had the pecan-crusted mahi nahi over rice. Both were perfectly seasoned, well presented, and delicious.
Unfortunately we were too full to.try the desserts, which looked very interesting on the other patrons' tables.
We.look forward to stopping in there again.

I like how you can go to Fat Tomato and have a low key pizza and salad night or get a Philly quality entree depending on your mood and your budget. It’s so much more than the typical Italian places in the area, with an evolving menu that always delivers. Some current faves are the raging rooster (spicy chicken sandwich), pear and prosciutto pizza, and the ahi tuna “nachos” on wonton crisps. We order or visit 1-2 x’s a month. As others have stated, it’s BYO. Service is great, lots of nice touches. Quality is top notch and you can tell the owners really care about what they put out.

My wife, I, and a "local" ate here for lunch earlier this month. What a treasure in these times of covid. The restaurant as is normal these days was sparsely attended but they seemed to have a decent take-out/pick-up business. But dining here was glorious.
My seatmates had salads and the greens were incredibly fresh and sparkling. One, a vegetarian had no problem substituting an animal protein for cheese instead
For me, I was lost in the who made the very best chicken sandwich? Was it Popeyes or another? I found the answer here at The Fat Tomato and their thin fries with balsamic vinegar, I still relive weeks later. This is a treasure, if you can support it, please do, you will not be disappointed.

I am local patron and we decided to get take out from you. I should have known considering the last time I was in there, I had a steak sandwich that was almost as bad as this one. I ordered eggplant Parmesan sandwich on a hoagie roll. it was a joke ... there was literally 3 pieces of thinly sliced breaded eggplant that were about 2" and 3" in size with a bit of sauce and a bit of cheese. OMG and it was $10. I feel ripped off. The taste was ok, but couldn't possibly make up for the lack of substance. But you would think an 11" hoagie roll would have at least been covered by the contents. I can't imagine why you would serve such a stingy sandwich and charge so much for it. Honestly? It was worth $5.00.

Delightful local restaurant located on Rt. 73 in Berlin, NJ. Great menu with a variety of dishes to please everyone. Reasonably priced and decent portions.
It's difficult to recommend any one dish because everything was delicious.

We hadn't been to the Fat Tomato for years, but we decided to stop for lunch because our Chinese restaurant was closed on a Monday.
Service was friendly and efficient. My ahi tuna salad was both beautiful to look at and delicious to eat. My husband enjoyed his pork sandwich, and the accompanying fries were crisp and tasty.
We thought about going back for dinner, but we don't do pizza or pasta. The mussels looked like a good appetizer choice. My entree choices would be ahi tina again, $26.95, or crab cakes at a very pricey $34.95, especially for Berlin. Time will tell if we try them for dinner.

A friend of mine took me to this place and I was extremely surprised with the amazing food! I had passed it so many times and thought it was just a pizza place but to my surprise it has a full Italian menu and the food is beyond delicious. Now I have to go back with everyone I know

This restaurant is turning out to be a real favorite. I named this review after one of our favorite waitresses. They are all very good and they make sure that you are happy with your choices. Prior to this visit we had a larger group and were seated in the back dining room. This area is larger and can seat 10-12 people.It was very nice.Great food;friendly staff. Plenty of parking for this comfortable place.

My family ordered for the first time from here last Friday. All though the food was good I was kind of disappointed as we received one of their menus in the mail and there was coupons in there. We went to use a coupon for $10 off if you spend over $50. Our bill came to $83.00 and the girl at the register wouldn't accept the coupon cause in real small print it said not good on Fridays and Sat. The writing was so small you need reading glasses to read it. Just the other day we received another coupon for your place for $10 off $60 worth of food and there was no restrictions on the coupon. So I don't see why they could have accepted it. Any way we will continue to go to our favorite Place Scotto's in Berlin. They accept coupons any day of the week and their food is also awesome.

From gourmet pizzas, to fabulous appetizers, to full dinners, this bistro has a menu that will please anyone looking for a great meal. We started with a stuffed portobello, prosciutto, avocado, and cheeses - a great creation! Then continued with a couple of gourmet thin crust pizzas - a pear and prosciutto, and an Italian red with some sausage and mushrooms. Of course, plenty to take home! Definitely recommend this restaurant!

We've been looking forward to going to this place for some time. We were not disappointed. It's a comparatively small restaurant but it is well appointed. We had plenty of room and were very comfortable.We were greeted as soon as we entered by a very nice young lady with a huge smile. Erica, our waitress, was very friendly and did an excellent job.If you've read any of our reviews, you can see that we rate most of these places with five stars. There's a reason for that . We check places out ahead of time on line and through recommendations and found most of them truly worthy of five stars.

The place has an annoying odor poor service food quality was poor! Prices expensive for quality of food! I hate writing bad reviews but since the restaurant does not mind charging the prices they do I don’t feel too bad writing this review! Sorry

We are sad to hear you didn’t have a good experience at our restaurant. The quality of our food may have been a bit sub par being that our main chef was out this weekend due to him having a baby. As for the odor I will be looking into that for that is an obvious down turn from the experience we want to give our customers here. I appreciate you bringing these things to our attention and we will gladly look at ways we can improve for the future.

Tiffany your experience sounds terrible but I don’t believe it was at our place, being that we don’t serve chips and our bathroom is cleaned hourly.

Went for the first time on Friday night, liked it so much went back Saturday! Staff was very friendly and attentive. You might like I did, think this is just another pizzeria, couldn’t be more wrong. It is a casual Italian restaurant with excellent dishes. Seafood was fresh and cooked perfectly. Got to love that it is BYOB! Try and leave room for desert, everything tasted fresh and homemade.
