Absolutely love dining at this vegan restaurant when at the Jersey Shore. There are also many amazing options on the menu and everything we ordered has been delicious and flavorful! Very friendly and efficient staff! It’s also a BYOB. Oh and save room for dessert!...The desserts are incredible! We had the peanut butter brownie and the lemon layer cake, both amazing!More

Entrees that are vegan but don’t seem “forced”. I had the day’s special, an Oyster (mushroom) Po’Boy. Although the breaded, fried mushrooms were oyster shaped, they stood on their own and were not quasi-oysters. The sauce was perfectly spiced, and the toasted bun added to...the sandwichMore

My family took a trip for lunch there today and the food was excellent! The atmosphere was nice and the server extremely pleasant and handled our rowdy bunch well. Sad that they didn’t have a large black Hail Seitan shirt but what can ya do?

Awful place. Disgusting food. Dark. I'd like to forget the entire experience. HIGHLY overrated. A waste of prime real estate with this subpar freakshow.

They advertise having gluten free food but the times I have been they always say they didn’t order anything. It’s a sham.

Mmm where to begin here: while eating at the restaurant one day, I felt that the artwork inside the restaurant seemed strange to me as a black person. I thought it would be helpful to bring it up to the owner, simply have my concerns...heard, and leave. Instead, the owner proceeded to talk to me agitatedly and condescendingly, not listen to me at all, yell and make a scene, and even threatened to make the exchage physical (one of his staff members had to hold him back). Granted, the conversation got heated, but as the owner of a business, you'd expect that he'd be able to have a difficult but mature conversation with his clients. He is incapable of that. Anyway, moral of the story is, this business man loves appropriating other people's culture to profit off of. Even more importantly, he's a racist white man that loves yelling at black women at his own restaurant. His staff also just sort of stood there and allowed him to just yell at me in the restaurant. Do the world a favor and don't support this R A C I S T white supremacist establishment. P.S. The food is sub-par too.More

Food was good especially if you want to try a new vegan option. Menu is really big. Service was ok. Atmosphere was ok. Could amp it up a little bit on weekend nights.

My husband and I both enjoyed our vegan burgers. He had the black bean burger; I had the lentil vegetable burger. We both preferred the black bean burger. We both ordered it with sautéed onions, sautéed mushrooms and potato salad on the side. The burger...really needs the added toppings. I appreciate the healthfulness of the whole wheat bun but I didn't think it went well with the lentil burger, and I wanted to leave room for dessert, so I stopped eating the bun after a while. The vegan potato salad we ordered as a side is exceptionally delicious. Lots of chopped vegetables. Perfect accompaniment for the veggie burgers. So glad I didn't get the fries. Better than most non-vegan potato salads. I highly recommend the SWEET yummy cinnamon bun dessert with pecan topping. HUGE portion large enough for 2-4 people to share. Server had it heated for us. We brought home the leftovers from that one huge portion. Best vegan pastry I've ever had. Kaya's has more and better tasting desserts than it used to. Do peak in the dessert showcase on your way to the table; you'll want to leave room for dessert! Kaya's keeps getting better and better. I'm so happy for them. I can't wait to go back.More

Finally a dining experience vegans can enjoy. i know the east coast is way more understanding of self inflicted dietary restrictions so please know I am coming from a very small town in rural Michigan where vegan choices are a salad where you have to...pick off the cheese and beg them not to slather ranch dressing on your food. walking in i was so excited and the menu and smells did not disappoint! everything was wonderful and in spite of reports of slow service, we did not experience this. food came fast and was delightful. wish i lived closer so i could visit more often. big shout out to my sister and mom for introducing me to this place. can't wait until my next trip to NJ to visit Kaya's!More

Kaya’s will not disappoint. It’s often difficult to find a good vegan restaurant. The food here is excellent and the menu has many interesting options. Came in for a late supper on a Wednesday evening and everything was amazing. Our server, Alex was also amazing!...She was friendly, attentive and provided great service. The desserts are of course vegan and I usually do not order desserts however I did tonight. The tiramisu was so good!!! Can’t wait for another trip to the Jersey Shore and come back! Thanks for a great night and meal for this very picky vegan!More

I love the idea of a vegan restaurant in a beach town, and applaud it, but many factors kept this place at just 3 stars. The menu relies heavily on meat replacements, such as seitan, which is fine, but I have found that vegan restaurants...that make the veggies the star also rely on spices and creativity, which was not the case here. The seitan appetizer with peanut sauce was good especially the sauce, but somewhat chewy. My main was a pepper steak (with seitan) but it was heavy on broccoli not peppers. Not bad, just unexpected. The biggest disappointment was the service, which was inattentive and slow. Our server said about 5 words to us the entire evening. We had to flag down someone else for refills on our drinks, and for the check, and there was no checking in on how things were. We noticed that some of the other servers seemed more attentive, but ours needed training. All in all, an ok experience, but compared with our local vegan restaurant (Sprig and Vine in New Hope) this one could use some attention.More

Wide assortment of vegan small plates, a dinner menu and dessert. Everything we ate was delicious! The bbq sauce and peanut satay were very good. An assortment of dipping sauces accompanied our food. Interesting decor displayed well. I’ll return to try dessert ( which looked...very tasty, and I’m suspicious of vegan desserts!)More
