We ordered take-out from CHEGG at least 10 times during a one-month stay in LBI after Labor Day. What kept us coming back was 1. they were open 7 days a week from morning through evening, unlike many restaurants in Beach Haven. 2. I fell...in love with their sinfully sweet cinnamon roll French toast. 3. the ordering app on their website (I usually used my computer) is excellent and lets you customize every dish (for example, which cheese, which dressing, which bread, which protein). Each order of cinnamon roll French toast came with packets of pancake syrup, and I laughed each time I unpacked the order, because this item is so ridiculously sweet, I don't know who would want to add pancake syrup to it. I also don't know who would eat this as breakfast; I served it after the meal as dessert. If you love cinnamon rolls, try this! I didn't have as much luck the one time I tried the Orchard's Best French Toast. The apple cobbler that came with it is wonderful, but the French toast was very thick and hadn't spent enough time soaking in the batter, so it was dry. I wouldn't be surprised if this dish is better when they're not hurrying. It was the only item I ever tried from CHEGG that wasn't perfect. Several times, I ordered avocado toast with poached eggs. Perfection. You get to choose which style of eggs, or you may skip the eggs, which I would have found bland and boring. Several times, I ordered arugula salad with candied walnuts, fresh strawberries and feta cheese. They always gave a generous amount of very sweet strawberries and walnuts. The walnuts were very sweet. I ordered this salad several times with tuna salad added, and several times without the tuna salad. The last item I ordered numerous times was the Vegan Veggie Steak. Delicious but I'm not sure why the call it a steak. I love this dish because the multigrain bread is excellent. You get to choose which cheese to melt on top of the medley of roasted vegetables (it's not a loaf). Note: I'm grading CHEGG 5* compared to other LBI restaurants we tried. I've had more gourmet food in other cities.More

You have got to experience the food here. We had breakfast here twice in two days. I had the best omelet ever. It is family friendly and the staff was extremely nice. They make you feel like family. If we were in the area longer,...we would have gone back for lunch and dinner! You've got to try this place !More

Completely disappointed. Day 1 - Ate breakfast at outdoor table. Omelettes were not up to usual standards. Fillings (peppers, tomato, avocado) were huge chunks rather than diced, and were sitting on top of the eggs rather than cooked in. Day 2 - Arrived for breakfast,...but we were told we could not sit outside because the tent was going to be taken down. We were told we could sit inside, but we are not comfortable doing so given the pandemic. We asked if we could sit at one of the outdoor tables that are not under the tent. Nope! Day 3 - Arrived at 8:30 for breakfast. There was someone outside setting the tables. (Note: the tent was still up, so why were we turned away the day before??). We asked for a table for 2 outside. We were told outdoor dining was not open, but we could eat inside. I said we are not comfortable with indoor seating during the pandemic. She said there is no outdoor server until 9:30. I asked if we could order as takeout and sit outside. Nope! We very much want to support small business during these difficult times. Unfortunately, Chegg did not appear to care about respecting their patrons’ safety concerns by allowing outdoor dining despite plenty of open tables.More

We have had take out wings many times with no issues, but today was very disappointing. Sounds like the kitchen staff is having a good time at the expense of diners. We ordered 10 wings dressed with beesting sauce and 10 buffalo shrimp with mild...sauce, extra blue cheese. And napkins, please. Clarified the order number because there was a discrepancy between the first number given and the second. While the order was ready on time, arrived home with 10 shrimp with very spicy sauce (beesting?? spicier!) and wings with no sauce. Thank goodness they were dressed or it would have been very skimpy. No napkins, no big deal. Got the extra blue cheese. But the screw-up with the shrimp and wings was very disappointing and not what we have been used to from the Chegg. Will definitely be advising others. Maybe we should have stood in the street and verified??? Not rushing back and we are on LBI all the time.More

The food here is mediocre at best & VERY EXPENSIVE. I have eaten there for breakfast and lunch. But what really turned me off about them is I Went for takeout. I ordered a coleslaw which they charged me $2.99 for, it was a little...tiny takeout container that you would put salad dressing in. I asked The man at the counter to take it off and I did not want it for that price. He then offered to get me another one, and came out with the same little tiny container, still too much for coleslaw. To top it all off when I get home to Cole so I wasn’t even edible. I will not be going there ever again. I definitely recommend eating at any of the other establishments on Long Beach Island, there are many to choose from. I will be choosing other places from now on.More

My husband and I had breakfast here this past Sunday, and can certainly see why the ratings are high. Food was delicious and service was friendly and efficient. Awesome menu too!

Since inclement weather and Covid, the-in person dining experience was not possible. With such a large menu, there is undoubtedly something for everyone! Unfortunately, when hot food gets boxed to go, the contents get soggy. This is probably not a problem that can be helped,...but was my experience. The bread on my grilled cheese was wet and soggy, and the fries were wilted. I hope to be able to return and enjoy in house fresh food to write a more positive review. One thing that added to the negative experience, however, that IS the fault of Chicken or the EGG, is they forgot to include napkins and UTENSILS for everyone in my party of 5!! Not easy to eat salads or meals without at least a FORK. Luckily our hotel had some on hand. I will go back because the menu is vast, and I think maybe it was just such a busy day for take out because of the rain....everyone deserves a second chanceMore

This is one of our favorite eating spots on LBI. This year due to COVID we opted for takeout. The process was flawless and the food excellent.

In these times the Chegg still sends out awesome breakfast dishes efficiently ! Use the yelp apps waitlist to avoid the hr wait for breakfast. I had a phenomenal local crab omelet , my hubby and 18 yr old son raved about the sausage gravy...and biscuits and the girls had pancakes that were delish! Coffee is the best on the island and servers were delightful!More

Was within walking distance from our condo and the staff did a great job accommodating us with fine service and good food., The garlic fries were the best ever and breakfast choices were refreshing.

I just grabbed my takeout menu & gluten free isn't indicated, but I've always found the staff to be helpful (I'm not gluten free, but have other food concerns) I'd just ask & I'm sure they'd check it out. A family member... More
