We visited the evening of 3/7/20 for drinks and dinner. We sat at the bar as it seemed very nice. The bartender was more interested in chatting with their friends that were hanging out for what appeared like bottomless drinks. once we got his attention we ordered the Onion soup and clam chowder. The Onion soup was in the top 5 and I consider myself some what of an expert on it. the chowder was very thin less of a chowder and more like a broth. The staff was very willing to let my wife order off the lunch menu even that we were in the dinner service. The Chicken salad sandwich was wonderful. I had the chicken under a brick. The chicken was perfect but the Risotto was a mess. It lacked flavor and seemed like the cook had used boiled rice and tried to wing it.
Overall the atmosphere is great. the staff seems very friendly. Maybe too friendly (the bartender) but the food was hit or miss. With some minor changes it could be spot on..

Wow what a sandwich ! Delicious..
Had lunch here with a friend.
We were staying in town and it was recommended by the owner of the lodge we were staying at. We had fried oysters which were delicious with homemade tartar sauce. All I can say is I highly recommend the LOBSTER BLT.

The tavern has a great atmosphere with pewter mugs hanging from the ceiling, and some live edge board tables. The drinks were great. Unfortunately the food was just average. We had the asparagus fries appetizer - it sounded really interesting! The stalks of asparagus were lightly battered and fried, which was fine. I was disappointed in the dipping sauce. Very little flavor. We both had the beef stew. It was supposed to come with a biscuit, but it didn't. It came with foccashia bread. Bummer. The stew itself was fine. Thick and hearty wtih peas, carrots and potato. Service was a little slow, but not bad. Overall just an OK experience.

Thank you for choosing to stop in for a meal and for your feedback. Hearing directly from guests is a powerful tool and one I use to both reward associates for noteworthy performance as well as a learning/training experience if less than positive. I have shared your comments with the culinary team so they are aware and may use this in their efforts to continually improve both their service and preparations.

We have been here a few times. Food is always decent as are the drinks. Our problem is the way they treat you. We have always been hesitant to go in because of this. This past Sunday we decided to try again. This time there was only two of us. It was around 1. There was one table of 3 and two people at the bar. We sat down, the bartender was behind the bar. She gave us a quick hi. Then she disappeared. We sat there for almost 10 minutes and she never returned. Not wanting to waste our day waiting for her, we left. I just could not believe it being that she had no customers. Too bad as we are extremely good tippers and would have enjoyed an app and drink but she didn't seem to be interested in serving us.

Weird bar experience. I asked for grateful dead. This is essentially a long island with chambourg in place of Pepsi. What was delivered was a weird concoction approximating a long island, looking like a Pepsi and tasting about as much. I explained to the waitress that a grateful dead contains chambourg and sour mix. She indicated the bar does not have sour mix. Kind of like a mechanic without a wrench. I must say, the food was good.

Josh is outstanding. Personality plus and never gets frazzled! We attended Fire & Ice and the place was mobbed. The Tavern was hopping and we had to wait for a table because we did not have reservations but it was well worth it. Huge delicious burgers with wide variety of choices and numerous add ons. Tater tot appetizer does not disappoint. Will stay over for this event next time.

Wolfe's Tavern is under new management, we had not gone their in around 4 years because of last experience, happy to report things have changed for the better. French onion soup, haddock, wings, and my smoky burger. Suggestions, allow for different tastes with wings, hotter sauce options (pretty mild) maybe some simpler burger options, like mushroom and swiss and bacon and smoked cheddar. My burger was good, but too many flavors going on for me. Good serving sizes and Cam, our waitress was great!

Very slow service. Waiter thought we were giving him large tip and when he returned our change from large bill, he pocketed the change and only gave us back the bills. Food was good, little expensive though. Went 2x and both times they wanted to sit us at the bar. Why ? Table they sat us at was by the fireplace in the Tavern with a HUGE head of a moose. Was not happy about that at all. This time waiter never came and gave us our check, he was too busy talking to another table, so we just left.

You can't beat Wolfe's as a go-to favorite with family, friends or just couples! Great food and drink (over 100 beers with at least 16 on tap!) selections and fantastic service. We prefer the pub, especially in the winter, but the adjacent dining room is also very nice. Reservations a really good idea in the peak season.

Wolfe’s Tavern is located adjacent to the Wolfeboro Inn. They have 8 beers on tap but many bottles - maybe 100 selections - but some were out - Disappointing. The bartenders seemed friendly but not that helpful with information about the beers.

Went for drinks with family. Pleasantly surprised at how lively it was due to recent changes. Friendly staff and an awesome new bartender (Matt) who made my sister a chocolate cake shot even though he never heard of it! Nice atmosphere and a great old fashioned.

Sad to see this once nice lounge and restaurant go south. Lack of help, not their fault, kitchen that has limited items and hours. Ownership is evidently not interested in making this a going concern.

Apparently when I stayed in late Aug 2022 this restaurant just reopened after being closed for a portion of the summer. Great service, great old fashioned, and great burger and fries.

Came for Easter Brunch with the family - friendly and very nice staff. Food was a buffet and just terrible - pancakes were tough, Salomon and chicken dry - barely edible, and all served from a room that was depressing and dated. As a tavern to drink looked like could be fun and good selection of beers - for food there’s just no way to explain how bad.
