First off they only take cash , but they do have their own ATM machine. There are no waiters or waitress. You go into a side room to order. Line on the right for fried food.Left side for boiled food. You pay and they give you a number. Find yourself a set in the dinning area and wait for your number... More

Stopped in for clam chowder and fish chowder. Took a long time on a slow November day, but there plenty of workers standing around. For a small chowder at $5, it WAS small. There was mostly broth and potatoes. Hold the pepper too. Grew up with Browns. What has happened?

This restaurant has been my friend's family tradition for over 65 years and I can see why! We went twice for lobster and the scallops/clams platter. I normally do not do fried food but wow - the scallops were SO GOOD! The first night on Saturday, 10/15 we encountered a super moon in front of us and a breath taking... More

Hadn't been to Browns in several years. We went for lunch. Not very crowded. Food was very good. Hot and crispy fried clams and scallops. Also ordered onion rings and clam chowder. First time having onion rings which were very good. Only disappointment was chowder. The broth was very tasty but not many clams or potatoes.

On a cold wet sunday in october, the place was empty giving us plenty of room to talk and visit. 10 of ordered different foods and every one was satisfied with amount and pace. The steamed clams were sweet, tender and delicious. The onion rings were perfect with great flavor and small amount of batter. The fact that there were... More

Saw this place on Chronicle, so thought it must be great. Not so much. Really disappointed. The food was not the problem though. The menu is confusing. The person taking the orders is very rude. The plates were not heaping as they were when the cameras are rolling. The portions were actually "skimpy"! To be a renowned establishment, you'd think... More

We visited Brown,s tonight as it was our last night in Hampton. I remember Brown,s as a go to place. Boy was I disappointed. We had our order to go, so we could eat back at our camper at Hampton Beach State Park. We had each a small size fish chowder, and split a 1 1/2 # order of steamers.... More

My wife and I stopped here for dinner. Only cash is accepted which is so not with the times. Make sure you have a bit of cash on you if you like lobsters. I ordered 2 lobsters over 2lbs each and my wife had baked scallops. The lobsters do not come with any sides and you get them in thin... More

Lobster roll was tiny for $17, lobster bisque was bland. I did like their coleslaw though. Only cash accepted. They do have an ATM like the ones they have in bars where you pay a big service fee. Ordering was super confusing...some things inside, some things outside. Skip this place and try somewhere else!
