I do love the food here, the guys at the hibachi are awesome. The waitress when you sit at the tables not so much. It is a hit or miss. I have been here several times and half of the time I had an ok...waitress and the other half not so much. They seem in a rush and pushy. We asked once about a dessert dish and the waitress said she did not know the answer. She did not offer to find out either. n another occasion she brought the wrong order and rolled her eyes and took the plate back in an angrily manner. Tim the manager is great, he is very friendly and sometimes has been our server and those times we had an awesome experience. Good place to eat with your family, kids, friend or a couple. The food is really good especially the shrimp fried rice and the jalapeno bomb!More
Went here last week for habachi lunch special and was not disappointed . Friendly staff- tea and soup and salad can sour immediately after we ordered . Next , the chef came wheeling his cart behind habachi and delighted kids with his knife skills, (tossing...apple cuts into their mouths) offering saki which I believe was non alcoholic - by squirting from a plastic bottle into their mouths. Fun time and food was delicious .More
My wife and I have been going to Kume in Seabrook since they opened 3 or 4 years ago looking for healthy and tasty food - and we got much more than that. Yes the Sushi, Sashimi and other food is consistently excellent. Yes the...cocktails, particularly the Martinis, are perfectly prepared. Yet the main reason we keep going back is personable staff and bar regulars. We've gotten to know Amy & Jessica the two great bartenders who always take time to really engage you in conversation. We know the very personable Tim & Ken (who brought in local spirits like Cold River Gin & Vodka at my request - who does that?) the two managers. We've also gotten to know Nina the owner, who takes time to talk to us every time we're in there. You can see they treat all their guests with true interest, regulars or not. And it seems as if all the regulars really love the place and the people. So if you're looking for a place with great food, drinks, people and 'where everyone knows your name' definitely start coming to Kume!More
We had a nice time at Kume. The chef delivered a good show and very tasty food. The filet, lobster, shrimp, and scallops were all fresh and yummy. The shrimp tempura roll was good.
I wouldn't have minded the price if the food had been cooked correctly. We ordered 2 steak and lobster tail dinners, one with fried rice. The cook was so busy trying to make a good show, probably to try to cover up his cooking. We...asked for steaks cooked medium, they were well done and too tough for my sister to chew. The lobster tail was over done and rubbery, as were the shrimp. the rice was underdone as were the veggies. I could hear the seafood crying out in distress LOL We each had tea, no alcohol, and dinner was $61.More
Decided to try Kume Japanese Steakhouse while we were out shopping. Our first time here. Very nicely decorated restaurant. We ordered a Seaweed salad and Seafood salad appetizers. Disappointing. They loaded both of the dishes with lettuce and topped it with a very small portion...of the seaweed and seafood. I've been to plenty sushi places that do not do this and have nice portions of the actual dish. My partner ordered a chicken fried rice. This was delicious! Very good portion as well. We both had various sushi rolls and we both agreed that the sushi was just "OK" and the rice was old and dry like it was made a day or two before. We weren't impressed. The service needs attention. The waitress was pleasant, but not once did anyone come and ask us how our meal was or if we needed anything. My partnered ordered another drink when she brought us our mains and she never brought the drink. Just forgot us. Needless to say, there is nothing here to bring us back.More
We live Kyle - its our goto place to get a seat at 7pm on a Friday night at the sushi bar. We ordered promptly and the waitress and sushi chef sent us the right path with Toro and nice tuna sashimi. Michael the sushi...chef was teaching others tonight. Amazing to see,him teach his craft. Wine and drink came soon, the soup, hot apps and sushi were slow. We could have been eating our volcano roll but the waitress let it sit and get cool. Tom Yum soup always great, sashimi awesome. The king crab gyoza were cold today. Our favorite we won't order again. Not sure they were homemade as in the past. We returned and they brought out the same ones again, minus the one I took a cold bite of. Should have refuted whole order for these loyal customers. We love the volcano roll, soup, drinks and any sushi made be Michael. He makes every evening enjoyable. We were disappointed and hope the kitchem will pay attention. Waitresses need to bring food when correctly hot and cold! We will be back again. Thanks for listening Kume.More
Not sure if we came on a bad night but this location doesn't even compare to the excellent quality in Epping. The food was excessively salty which overpowered the flavors of the food. I would also advise against the Lobster Miso Soup and recommend the...plain Miso Soup (the lobster didn't seem to be cooked correctly). The few things I did like about this location was the Volcano Roll and the drinks. I think I will stick with going to the Epping location as the food quality is delicious and the atmosphere is more welcoming.More
I took a date here, and it was a pleasant experience. They have a pretty good selection on their drink menus. The wait staff came at regular intervals to check on us. I ordered the salmon teriyaki and a house salad. The portions were pretty...good, and the food tasted fine as well. 2 salads, 2 glasses of wine, and 2 teriyaki dishes was a total of $47. Good atmosphere, we were able to talk and hear each other. They also have a hibachi section, which I would like to try at a later date. It's also right on Route 1, making it easy to locate. I would recommend checking it out.More
