We stumbled upon this place as we walked around the town. Really old building, nice staff, good jazz, and very comfortable place to sit and chat. We got great recommendations for dinner from the bar tender.

This is one of the first bars I walked into when I moved to Portsmouth. I have been a regular ever since. It has the sense of comfort when you walk in the door like your hanging out in a room with all your friends. The fact that there is music everyday, local art on the wall, and an old... More

This is a little outside of the main downtown area. We passed by and were attracted by the live jazz lunch. It's a little tired looking inside. We took a quick look at the menu and figured we'd try it so we could hear the music. Service was good, the food came out quickly. We both had fish tacos so... More

My husband and I went here to have a night out. Perfect. There's good beer, pub food and music upstairs.

Been here countless times for music, mini concerts(upstairs) and good quality bar food. Fish and chips are great - light batter, fresh fish and handcut chips - Yum! There's also a constant parade of live acts including Celtic sessions, jazz, blues, rock and fusions of all flavors. Cozy, lively, warm with attentive staff and great tunes says it all. Lunch, dinner... More

This place has been around forever. My college roommate from New Castle and I used to come here for lunch and hot buttered rums. It's still good, but different. The food is average, prices are high (you pay for the historic atmosphere), and the service was slow the last time I was here. It's a very popular venue for live... More

The group "Combo Sabroso" appeared at the Press Room on Sat., Dec. 5th playing their rendition of "Salsa/Regge Party". Great vibes as the place was rocking with dancers and a full house of patrons! Each set got better...playing to the wee hours of the night. If you dig great Latin music...watch for their next appearance...come early!

We didn't have food here, but it's always been a fun spot to stop for a few drinks and some live music. Just remember, it's a bar, so don't expect the bathrooms to be even remotely sanitary.😳

As the sign says, good food and live music. In fact the food is great, and the music is even better. Reminds me of the old Club 47 in Cambridge Mass, which was just behind Harvard Square. But for those who are younger than 50, just be sure that you will definitely enjoy your evening, no matter who is playing.

Thank David K
