The Golden Egg reminds one of the joy of a good diner-style breakfast. Fresh, hot coffee served upon arrival, lots of options to choose from on the menu, very friendly staff, and prompt delivery of well-cooked food in generous portions. It deserves the morning crowds one sees so often, but it is worth the wait to enjoy this restaurant.

Great, plentiful breakfast, friendly staff, good service. This a place the locals go to for a hearty breakfast or lunch. We sat at the counter and enjoyed the banter among the staff. For me it was a throwback to a different place and time. I enjoyed the diner-like atmosphere and neighborly people.

We stopped in here for the first time after visiting Fort Stark and it was excellent! I ordered the Twin's Favorite and the French toast was perfectly cooked - a hard to reach balance between fluffy yet sturdy. The scrambled eggs were also cooked great and tasted delicious. I wasn't a huge fan of the link sausages due to a... More

We had a great breakfast here...wish I could have stayed for lunch as the home made pies and cakes were beautiful. The staff was friendly and efficient.

After chatting with some firemen downtown we asked for the best place to get breakfast and they said Golden Egg. We went back twice it was so good. Try the meatlof omelet and the eggs benedict. Great friendly staff

This is the kind of breakfast place where the whole experience is inviting and warm.....the kind of restaurant where the local go for pancakes and french toast. My daughter and I both loved it.

A friendly local place. Not very big, but the staff is very friendly. We were there for breakfast and the menu was traditional, but they do offer a huge selection of muffins. Coffee was great.

Always a good sign to see a full parking lot when you are unfamiliar with an area. This was a great stop for breakfast. The omelettes were stuffed full and the eggs were fluffy. Pancakes with real maple syrup were yummy!!!

Food was delicious and service was swift. My wife and I ordered omelets and they were so large that we couldn't finish everything on our plates. Would definitely recommend

The Golden Egg is the quintessential small town breakfast diner. All you have to know is that there is usually a line of locals standing outside the door waiting to get in. There is a counter with may be a dozen stools in front of the kitchen with tables in front of that to the right of the entrance looking... More
