After shopping in downtown Portsmouth for the afternoon, I stopped by Poco’s Bow Street Cantina to pick up an appetizer to have before dinner. At the walk-up counter, I ordered the Chips & Salsa at $5.00. With NH 9% Meals Tax of 45 cents, the...total was $9.45. It was a long wait of 20 minutes or more for my order. Since Poco’s makes its own tortilla chips, that may have explained part of the wait. Poco’s has gluten-free and vegan menu items as well as gluten-free options and vegan options on many menu items. I also noticed that Poco's has a children's menu with several choices. One will also find a lobster roll and seafood chowder on Poco’s menu. At home, I found the salsa to be mildly spicy. The chips were fresh and crispy. A few of them were overdone, but the amounts of salsa and chips were satisfactory enough. I rate my experience with Poco’s Bow Street Cantina at 4.0. We stopped here to have a drink and get some appetizers. The menu was quite limited and we decided against it. The indoor seating was a mixed bag.

We sat outside on the back deck. It was so quaint with the tug boats in the water and other boats going by. The service was great. Delicious house margarita. We enjoyed chips and guac with a chicken quesadilla. The food was very good and...reasonably priced.More

Super casual and friendly. Nice salad selection and lots of Americana Mexican style dishes. Clean and comfortable. No frills.

Portsmouth is always one of our favorite stops. Because of Covid we will only eat outside. Poco’s has extensive outdoor seating overlooking the river. This was the first time eating here and it was good. I just had a burger and my wife had fish...tacos. Both were good. The restaurant seems to take Covid seriously, which I appreciate. I did notice, too late, that they offer a 20% military discount. It would have saved us $8 on our bill.More

I really enjoyed the guacamole fries and the pulled pork nachos. We ordered 1/2 size and it was perfect because we both got dinner too. I thought the pork carnitas fajitas were moist, tender and flavorful! The chicken enchiladas were good but a little dry....Well worth the money we spent.More

Enjoyed lunch in their lower deck, open air space. Always good nachos, quesadilla, lobster roll & other tasty dishes. Not fancy; just right for a day in Portsmouth. Appropriate table spacing & server masking. Certainly recommend.

Stopped here during a quick visit to Portsmouth. I am beginning to think I might be becoming a bit of a food snob but the the food here was fabulous. It was a bit different than traditional mexican fare but I loved the spin. We...tried the veggie nachos, cauliflower enchiladas and lobster quesadilla and everything was great. My husband was especially impressed that the lobster quesadilla was not skimpy on the lobster. Drinks were good as well and our waitress was very attentive and kind. Wish we had something similar closer to us but wouldn’t hesitate to go here again if we land back in Portsmouth.More

My husband and I stopped in for a couple of drinks. The mojito was not good at all. Weak without the lime, mint flavor you expect. So ordered a wine and the pour was not right even though they argued it was. Maybe a 4...ounce pour if that. Service is very poor and not customer oriented. With so many places vying for business, go elsewhere and save your money.More

Went in for a quick lunch after arriving in Portsmouth for a few days. Had a local craft beer and the seafood chowder. Beer was excellent, cold and refreshing. Chowder was absolutely perfect. Rich and full of flavor. I had the cup. Husband had the...bowl. I should have had the bowl! Still thinking about it 2 days later!More

This 'Cantina' was just delicious, the food was Mexican and tons of it overflowing on the plates, enough for all to share...drinks were just right, waitresses on the ball, kind and considerate (as our party of six had them hopping)...Right across from the water in...downtown Portsmouth, definitely worth it!! We'll be back!!More

This was our first stop once we arrived in town. Previous trip advisor reviews were accurate...it was delicious! Most of us had a lobster roll but several got lobster bisque and one got lobster salad. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meal. No filler in the...lobster roll and my friends said the lobster bisque was the best they’d ever eaten and was loaded with lobster meat.More

Great spot on the waterfront and terrific service. I was planning for a small lunch and ordered the pork Fajitas - huge hunks of moist pulled pork, good servings of avocado and sour cream. The diet can start tomorrow
