Very good bakery: breads and rolls for your snadwiches. Pizza and sides. Funky drinks too. Small quaint place.

I went there with a friend, who also left a review, and actually left without ordering. First of all, they didn't have menus. They ran out and had them coming in the mail, so they had everything written in tiny letters on a chalk board - no prices included. The place was not very clean looking and there's never anyone... I was in Portsmouth for a couple of nights and, at the end of the day, really felt too tired to drive out for dinner. My hotel had some take out menus and one was for the Bread Box Deli. We called and ordered a veggie wrap, a veggie sub, some chips and soda. Delivery was quick, the order was... More

The menu was written so small and could not read it. The guy was about to take my order and sneezes all over his arm. My friend looked at me and said Do we really want these guys cooking our food? they looked very dirty and not groomed.

I got a chicken sandwich and onion rings. The sandwich meat was juicy and the toppings were fresh and bread was delicious. Great service and good prices.

The food at the breadbox is classicly delicious. The food is priced low for how good it is. The guys that work there are cute too.

I am not originally from the area and have been looking for an excellent place to get sandwiches for awhile now. I was very impressed with the Bread Box! The subs themselves came in three sizes, with a wide variety of choices. My friend likes spicy, so he had opted for a spicy italian which fulfilled his needs. I was... More

The best subs in Portsmouth hands down- fresh, tasty, large portions and a great value. While I cannot agree with a previous reviewer that stated that thier mouth watered when inserting the foot-long in thier mouth, I never the less agree that food from the Breadbox is consistent and enjoyable. I highly recommend for pizza as well.

Consistency matters! I have tried several places, ordering the same thing again and again and yet every time, when unwrapped it looks and tastes different. NOT AT THE BREAD BOX. I get nearly the same thing every time, creature of habit I guess but every time it is exactly what I ordered, craved and my mouth watered for. I wish... More
