Got a recommendation from our hotel and decided to try this place. Made a reservation while walking there and we were greeted as if we were regulars. Had a lovely waitress named Dolly who was extremely professional and charming. Food was fresh and delicious. Wine very good too. Wish I could go again but my travels take me elsewhere.

I chose this restaurant based on a recommendation from a work colleague who also visited Portsmouth. The place was packed (Tuesday night about 8:30 so I sat at the bar. Took about 5 minutes before I was acknowledged, no hello, just a menu. Ordered the swordfish which came with corn and mashed potatoes ($27) and a glass of malbec ($9).... More

We had dinner at the restaurant. I had one of the best halibut dinners I've had in a long time. I also had the special salad which was excellent. My husband had halibut as well but prepared differently than mine. His was equally delicious. The service was prompt and friendly.

Just had a great meal at Jumpin' Jay's. Had the Prince Edward Island mussels and the haddock piccata and my husband had the catch of the day - grilled swordfish. The mussels were absolutely fantastic. Definitely enjoyed this restaurant.

We dine here several times a year when visiting southern Maine. Salads are terrific and you can't go wrong with the haddock picatta. Service is friendly and attentive.

Portsmouth dining includes seafood, almost everywhere you go. The entries at Jumpin' Jay's stand out, for their creative use of seasoning and sauces, an international flavor fusion. Beyond the great food, the service is always excellent. This is a restaurant so well managed, that you can be confident that you will always have a good outing.

Our group of 22 had a great dinner. All agreed that the service and food was excellent especially the fresh fish dishes. My wife and I had their tuna entrée which was served braised rare and was of high quality.

We enjoyed the haddock and the linguini and clams very much. However, the number of items on the menu was limited, the salad was excellent (very fresh, good balsamic dressing), but the prices were high. We expected to find a lobster dish at a seafood restaurant near the water! They're a corner restaurant trying to be an elegant dining establishment.

Have had dinner here a few times when traveling for work. This trip the food was good, as usual. The table placement did keep me from giving all 5 stars. The restaurant was not overly busy so being placed at a small table by the bar, next to the station where the servers kept coming for drinks right at the... More
