I often visit the Portsmouth Brewery on a Sunday evening. Great menu with almost 100% local products. Super specials each night of the week. Their craft beers, brewed right there are all superb. If you enjoy Mussels...you will die with the serving that is given. Couple that with a special of the day or a great oversized salad (my choice)... More

Not only did they have great beer on tap, but hey had a decent selection of vegetarian friendly food. The tempeh Reuben was awesome! Great location downtown. There is a central Peking garage just around the street that is about a $1/hr and you can access all of the main walking areas. Very friendly staff.

I've been to the Portsmouth Brewery on several occasions and have never been disappointed. This time it was just to get a Smutty but I ended up trying one of their specials instead. It was game day for our beloved Patriots so there was a crowd starting to gather but the waitstaff were prepared and the wait wasn't long. Cheers!

We were celebrating our daughters excellent grades as a freshman in college, so we decided to try the Portsmouth Brewery. The overall feel of the restaurant is electric. It's alive, with a nice bar along with beer brewing scenery. We didn't need to wait long and they seated two of us right away before the remaining 4 members of our... More

This place has gotten so busy in the last several years that I just don't enjoy it as much as I once did. There is always a wait now, running outside the door and onto the street. The food and beer is super which is of course why it's so busy and popular. Seasonal brews are a must. Would I... More

A popular craft brewery in Portsmouth that's always busy in the evening. We stopped here for a light lunch and a beer. The beers were excellent but our lunches were a little lack luster. Stop by for a beer with the evening crowd and enjoy the atmosphere after dining in one of Portsmouth better eateries.

A group of 3 had lunch today here today. I got the seasonal brewery salad with blackened chicken. The salad was good but the chicken was dry. Next time I may try the Tempe as an add on instead of chicken.

Stopped by for drinks and Aps over the holidays ... and were very disappointed. We were too lazy and cold to research other options in Portsmouth after shopping, but wish we had gone the extra step and not settled for the convenient, safe (or so we thought) option. We had beer, a flight (very small, glasses not even filled) and... More

This place was more of a restaurant than a brewery, and the beers weren't great- ended up not drinking about half of the two flights we got (they had the option to get 2 flights that covered each beer). We sat in the seat your self section and our waitress was very absent and short with us.

I really like the Portsmouth Brewery. They have a great selection of beers and I love getting their beer tasting samples. It is always super busy here. You are definitely in for an hour to two hour wait if you come on a weekend night, or even a weekend lunch. It has tasty pub food and a great location. As... More

Description
Welcome to New Hampshire's original brewpub, a landmark in downtown Portsmouth's thriving restaurant scene since 1991. Our wide-ranging menu is complemented by a selection of our own unique, hand-crafted beers, as well as selected guest beers, including hard-to-find selections from our sister company, Smuttynose Brewing Co. Come for the beer. Stay for the food. We serve all types!
