Stopped in for beer samples on a tip from the Alehouse Inn. Not only was the beer excellent but the food was as well!

Great service and friendly staff at the bar. Plenty of menu choices and daily specials. No old Jamison but the staff can usually find reasonable substitutes. Beer options are not as extensive as thirsty moose but better or comparable to nearby bars/restaurants.

Love eating here!! Their beers on tap are great and brewed right on sight. The food is great and pairs well with their selection of beers. The wait staff will help you pair you choice of beer with your meal. Great place to eat at any time

A friend recommended that we try Portsmouth Brewery while in town. We were not disappointed. The place was so busy when we got there at about 1p. They told us we could enjoy the bar downstairs while waiting, and took our cell phone number to text us when our table was ready. We ended up staying downstairs as it was... More

Always a good place for a nice selection of local beers and good food. The menu has plenty of items to choose from. From salads to appetizers ,pizza, sandwiches, burgers and main courses, there is something for everyone including a kids menu. Parking nearby in the downtown garage. They also have a full bar.

Didn't try the beer but the bourbon was good! Had the salmon and and was very happy with the choice. Very fresh and not fishy at all. Service was very good, atmosphere was typical of a restaurant like this- was very clean inside as well. Worth a try.

Have been visiting here since it opening some ?20 years ago? Beer is amazing, great selection, always fresh and changing. If you want to travel 15 miles south to Hampton, visit their brewery, Smuttynose. The Hayseed restaurant there is great as well. Back to the Portsmouth Brewery. Always fun, busy and a great place to meet and share a point... More

This place is crowded, and slightly overpriced. I've gone in and done a flight of beers, only to find I liked 1 or 2, but found that most were too strong or too bitter. This is really no different than any other brewery. Its in a great section of town, in the heart of the shopping district in Portsmouth. If... More
