Everyday our team of chefs work with our seafood buyers to source the best quality seafood. Our standards of excellence start with the selection of the top of the catch each day and often our daily specials are sourced from local fisherman who know where to send the best fish of the day. We go to such lengths to secure the freshest seafood for one reason – our high standards of excellence demand that every ingredient we use is the best. Although we can tell you how fresh our seafood is, the only way to really know is to taste it.

Had the Scallop Salad and it was excellent. Baked Seafood Trio was outstanding. Large portions for everyone in our group. Polished service. Nice bright atmosphere. Best restaurant I tried in Portsmouth over four days.

We enjoyed our fresh oysters a lot with friends, good beer selection as well. The main courses though get mixed reviews. The fish tacos arrived warm, ok salsa; crab cakes were ok. I’ll stick with the raw bar and beers next time!

The view here is probably the best for Portsmouth dining. We all know there is a price to pay for that and that is OK, but don’t expect fine dining although the prices may imply that. We were charged $30 for a fried clam appetizer!...More

Outstanding fresh seafood and terrific waitstaff. a combination like that can't be matched. Order a few oyster shooters and then the Tuna starter....anything else no matter what is an added bonus.

We dine here every time we visit Portsmouth. I love the water view and the food is excellent! The menu is extensive. The clam chowder is the best. The lobster roll is a generous portion of lobster without all the mayo. Spring rolls with peanut...More

Joined some friends for lunch at this waterfront location who fortunately had made a reservation as there were eight of us. The ambience as a modern diner is slightly at odds with the menu which mimics seafood fine dining, however the food was very satisfactory,...More

I would definitely make reservations for a dinner seating. If you go in for an early dinner you have a good chance of getting a nice table by the windows without a reservation

No the outside dining area is a small deck that juts out of the back of the restaurant. To reach it you must walk through the inside of the restaurant.

Hi Tanya, Surf has a relaxed and inviting atmosphere, there is no particular dress code for Surf, though it is considered casual. Thank you, Robyn Spittle
