This restaurant is at the edge of the creeks flowing around portsmouth and Newcastle And is a great place for seafood or lobster. I had the "small plate" fisherman's platter with whole belly clams, shrimp and fish all fried to perfection for under $20. My spouse had the fried fish and our friend had the lazyman lobster. It was all... More

BG's is filled with history and feels like you've settled in for an old fashioned fish dinner after a day on the boat. Atmosphere is nostalgic and fun, staff is helpful and friendly. Lots of very fried choices and big portions so you might want to choose healthier options. Great deck and lovely view, but bring the bug spray. All... More

I met friends for dinner on the deck. They live in Arizona now, so naturally they wanted the lobster & steamers. I had the small fish & chips, which was very good and I couldn't even finish it. Service was great, but we did think the deck chairs were a tad uncomfortable, Perhaps because we were there for quite a... More

We stopped for lunch today - a beautiful day- were seated outside, which was great. We had the lobster bisque which was good. We both had fried clam baskets which were greasy and some were burned around the edges and all had a distinct burned taste. The fried onion rings were good. Also, no cole slaw. We have had fried seafood... More

Casual waterfront dining - outside seating and a covered porch. Inside might be good on a rainy day, but otherwise wouldn't do that. This was a return visit and I don't think I've ever had a bad meal here. When I called to find out what time they were open until it appeared not to be a fixed time "Oh,... More

We were heading out of Maine around lunch time and decided to go back to BG's. We got there around 1:15 and had a great meal overlooking the river. Great service made quick and easy. This is one of the old reliable hidden spots right off of I95 on the Maine New Hampshire border. Fantastic lobster bisque soup

Very reasonable prices, great view and outside eating. Was a little disappointed that everything was paper and plastic. Our server was not the bestest but there were other servers that were better.

The reason we use paper plates and plastic utensils is because we aren't on City septic. We are limited to one dishwasher for drinking glasses only for this reason. If you would like to discuss in further detail how your server could have provided you with a more positive experience I would be happy to hear from you as we... More

We sat on the deck, had some great seafood and beers. Wait staff very friendly. Nice view of water, right off the harbor. I live locally and we love this place.

This was a random stop as we headed to the Seacoast Science Center. Great people, awesome seafood & relaxed atmosphere with no Cape Cod traffic. Fish & Chips were the best I've ever had. Wife had the lobster roll and loved it. Yummy onion rings. Will head back soon! Good margarita's and chicken fingers for land lubbers & picky kids... More
