Good food, great setting

What a great place to hunker down and wait out the weather! We were staying at the inn and too tired to go out and face the weather to find a restaurant. Luckily the Boiler room was just what we wanted, comfy chairs, cozy fire, and none of the staff blinked an eye when we spread out our board... read more

All of the Common Man Restaurants have great atmosphere and good food. You can count on quality service and a relaxed place to meet friends. What i like best about Foster's Boiler Room is that you can go after work for drinks and aps with no wait or stress. A great place for Thirsty Thursdays!

Staying at the Inn, I thought it was convenient to find a restaurant onsite. Very disappointed with the menu, but the service was very good. It is very confusing where the restaurant actually is within the Inn. There are several rooms that look like a restaurant but there are never people in there. So I went to the door clearly... More

The food served here is incredible. The seating in the downstairs room is cozy with couches, chair's, coffee tables, fireplace and you can really kick back and have some fun while eating, there's games, cards, all kinds of things to do while you wait for your food. BUT, you won't be waiting long, the food comes out FAST and piping... More

I usually make it a point to visit Foster's for their fabulous Fish & Chips along with my sister for lunch when I visit New Hampshire. This time I went with my husband. I was a bit apprenhensive because of another restaurant in the Common Main chain that was a bitter disappointment. I was wrong, my picky husband loved it!!!... More

My wife and I had never dined at Foster's before but we have dined often at many other Common Man restaurants. Foster's is located in a old wood milling plant. Thus the surroundings are interesting and historical. The menu was very "pub" like. It is reasonably priced. The beer menu is about 65% micro or better beers with some outstanding... More

Our first trip to Foster's Boiler Room was very nice - live music, cozy atmosphere, and good food. The second time was less so. So, we decided to try one more time, hoping for a repeat of the first visit. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed. We went last Sunday night, and the place was quiet and there was no live... The restaurant offers a varied menu from small to full plates, lots of choices and food was delicious with thoughtful presentation. The staff were polite and friendly. I loved the multi-level seating arrangements - a spot for everyone!

We arrived with our African American son and were quickly escorted to an out of sight top floor dining area. Didn't think much of it until we noticed every party in the restaurant with a black person was also escorted there. When I left, I checked the other areas and none had blacks seated there. I asked the host why... More
