Three of us ordered different things and all enjoyed our options. the wrap was huge, the salad tasty, as was the sandwich. We'd go back.

I always look forward to a return visit. My fav sandwich is the New Englander, but there are always many more tempting options from soup to dessert.
This time I came in and just thought, wow... I think I could eat one of everything - it all looked so good... very enticing. I used to buy bakery treats here for my aging Dad... he loved how they baked. Just like his Irish...mother... Soothing environment - in what must be one of the single best bookstores I have ever been in... so a great combination. Buy a book and go get a great cup of coffee and something delicious to eat.More
I love this cafe! I often stop on my bike for iced coffee, which is delicious, and they use coffee ice cubes! The food is delicious, homemade, and healthy! It is possible to make special requests, and they even packed lunches for us for our...airplane ride to Norway this past summer! Service with a smile is the rule here!!!More
I love this place! When I used to live in Peterborough, I stopped by whenever I could to get one of their specialty coffees or teas & scrumptious bite of something good, like their fabulous sandwiches and soups. I do recall that they had a...gluten-free option too for sandwiches. I am not 100% sure though.More
My 2 friends and I met for lunch on a cool rainy afternoon. Peterborough is a beautiful quaint town. Aesop’s is located inside Toad Stool Bookstore. Small area to eat at but it is clean cute and reasonably priced. We each had the wrap/soup combo....The bowl of turkey soup was large, delicious and hardy. When ordering a turkey wrap each of us wanted some a little bit different made to order. The cashier was getting annoyed of the small difference on the sandwich we were asking about and her faces showed it. She said it couldn’t be changed as it was prepared well beforehand (maybe frozen and then defrosted for the day as the turkey wrap served wasn’t hot) and that was that. She was a bit curt. But overall the food was very good. Minus 2 points off of score of 5. 1 less at counter and then 1 less as the same server made a remark when she brought food to table.More
This is a good place for a soup and sandwich combo located in a truly great independent bookstore that also has a good selection of music and a large used book department.
Cute cafe in the Toadstool Bookshop. Great coffee (favorite: Bali Blue, it's organic), great lunches (love the soups). It's small so don't expect to linger with a laptop during peak hours. But the people are very nice and the food is genuinely good.
This cafe is in a bookstore and has a small but great menu and, as the title suggests, great coffee, pie and breakfast sandwiches.
Quaint, charming and adorable. Very nice food and drink, ambiance and service as well Highly recommend!
I had lunch here with a friend and it was a very busy place. The food is made to order or you can purchase some premade lovely dish options. I am a foodie and gluten free. There were several options to chose from as well...as organic coffee and some very tasty desserts. I recommend going here for lunch and taking time to look at the wine selections (I don't drink but there were several options) and gift items. It is a sweet place to visit when in Peterborough conveniently located int he quaint Peterborough Village.More
After a morning walk we ended up in the bookstore for breakfast. They make a very good cup of coffee and the orange-pecan scones were wonderful. My friend had the homemade cereal which was a granola-like mix and she exclaimed it was the best she...ever had. There were breakfast bowl which were a variety of fresh ingredients and would make a good brunch. Then food service is in the front corner of the bookstore and is decorated with local artwork. A low-keyed small town find. You might even find a book to read.More
This is a really hidden experience you should not miss. Here in the middle of this great bookstore is this little cafe with a menu that will blow your mind. There is coffee and beautiful pastries, and muffins and cookies (oops got carried away) and...there are lunch entrees you wouldn't believe. You can have soup, or soup and sandwich and what a variety. The person I met had a beautiful large cobb salad and curried split pea soup while I had a sweet potato and black bean wrap served with salsa. There must have been 6 soup choices and as many sandwiches. I noticed there was also a beef sandwich and a BLT so this is not just a vegetarian place. You can also just have coffee or a specialty coffee or coffee and a muffin (there I go again with the beautiful pastries). There are a few small tables here but you can also get your food or coffee to go. I think my sandwich with salsa and chips and a small coffee ran between $8 - 10. I sure wish I'd had a chocolate chip cookie.More
everytime we go, there are new offerings. great soup and sandwich place. everything is very very fresh and natural...clean food. i have always enjoyed it and will go back again.
I've been going to Aesop's for a number of years on a fairly regular basis. Under the previous owner it was fantastic ~ the service was great, atmosphere happy, and the art enjoyable. Since the new owners took over the service has been extremely slow,...usually grumpy, and some of the art frightening. And today I was told they no longer serve water. If you want water you'll need to buy a bottle of chilled plastic water. Such a shame.More
