I've been going to Aesop's for a number of years on a fairly regular basis. Under the previous owner it was fantastic ~ the service was great, atmosphere happy, and the art enjoyable. Since the new owners took over the service has been extremely slow, usually grumpy, and some of the art frightening. And today I was told they no... More

The soup is always on and it is constantly great. John (the owner) has a great food mind so there are some original things on the menu. The baked goods are nice although the scones and muffins seemed to have shrunk (?!?) Excellent coffee and great, earthy vibe. I am glad these places still thrive. This is a Peterborough institution.

Tucked into a cozy corner of The Toadstool Bookshop, this is a little gem of a restaurant with an impressive amount of offerings for such a cozy, intimate space. Great for brunch, lunch or tea. I've never had a sandwich, soup or dessert that hasn't been delicious.

I have stopped in for the past 10 years to pick up a delicious breakfast sandwich or have a nice healthy lunch. The service can be a little slow when it is busy but it is a small place and everything is made to order. So be patient it is worth it.

This little cafe is serving up delicious, fresh food inside a bookstore... A dream come true. You can stop in, pick up a new book and immediately begin enjoying it over a sandwich, soup or tempting baked good. A small area, but does not feel cramped and the the staff seem to be very happy and always smiling. So happy... More

Nice Lunch Place. I also come here with friends after work for a latte. Their sandwiches are good as well. Earthy atmosphere.

I come here mainly to browse through the books, but I've had their soups, coffee and pastry, and they're all good, especially the soups. It's a unique little place.

Had the New Englander with a whole wheat wrap rather than the bread. Also the sweet red pepper corn chowder, very good. Sat outside after a climb art Miller State Park
