This place is a fantastic option for a New England breakfast. The atmosphere is casual and full of locals (in fact, a local brought us here). People of all walks of life dine here, and the food and service are excellent. Of particular note is that they bake their own breads. Cinnamon raisin french bread is fantastic. Ask for maple... finally made it to Newmarkets breakfast hot spot, and now I know what all the fuss is about. I had the downeast french toast which was amazing, I was sad I couldn't finish the plate. My husband and son each had an omelette, which were also perfect. We all had smoothies made to order with your choice of fruit and... More

There isn't that much more to say that hasn't already been written. Incredible, fresh, eclectic menu, great service and friendly atmosphere. Nick and Lauren are awesome who make you feel like you're home. Huevos Rancheros is delicious, and ask for a little extra fresh delicious salsa! The Benedict's are all great. And the muffins, awesome! Have them grilled! When there's... More

Food here is wonderful! Service is friendly and efficient. Be prepared to wait for a table on the weekends, but it is worth the wait. The maple cream cheese stuffed French Toast is not to be missed! I've eaten here often and NEVER been disappointed.

The Big Bean in Newmarket may well be the best breakfast value in the state with great service and prices on an eclectic menu ranging from the Phelp's (delicious biscuits and country gravy with 2 eggs your way) to incredible omelets to a range of specials from hearty to healthy. I've yet to be disappointed by my experience there...but, be... More

Im not a huge fan of eggs Benedict but I will always order it when I attend this restaurant. The Big Bean is located in quaint and quiet Newmarket NH and is a favorite among the students at UNH. Because of the proximity to UNH if you want to have breakfast here you're going to have to wait. The restaurant... More

Wonderful place to eat. Great and creative menu. Place is usually very busy, so be prepared to wait for a table. Place also tends to be noisy.

My wife has been raving about the Big Bean so she brought me. I was very pleasantly surprised. The food, waitstaff, and surroundings were outstsnding! I had their combo breakfast with eggs, sausage, bacon, pancakes, and toast. All were equally tasty. The interior was inviting. It was an outstanding breakfast experience!
