Welcome to KC's Rib Shack Barbecue restaurant. New Hampshire's favorite BBQ for close to two decades. At KC's Rib Shack, serving the world's finest hickory-smoked ribs and BBQ is our passion. Our food and exceptional service are definitely two things we take seriously. No white tablecloths here, you'll sit at butcher paper covered tables under the Christmas lights and pull from a roll of paper towels to wipe our homemade BBQ sauces from your face. Our Southern style Barbeque, Bar-B-Que, Bar-B-Cue, just Q, or however you spell it, is seasoned with our own recipe of different dry rubs and cooked without sauce. Its then cut to order and prepared straight from our smokers which run 24 hours a day...

Enjoying BBQ at KC's Rib Shack

Great restaurant with amazing food! We arrived at approximately 6 pm and were seated at an outdoor table. The waiter came up to us almost immediately and gave us the menu, while also offering us something to drink. I chose the smokehouse combo that included spare ribs, chicken breast, cole slaw, baked beans and cornbread. We waited approximately 20 minutes for our food to arrive, while listening to music. The food was delicious. Tip: I recommend spending an hour here if you want to have a nice relaxing dinner.

Traveling in the area, my wife and I relied on Trip Advisor for our Sunday lunch. Overall we were very pleased with our choice. We first got seated upstairs, but as seniors the high tables were not the best choice for us so they accommodated us in a nice booth on the main floor. The waitstaff was efficient and cordial, and the ambiance was well suited for barbecue! Our orders arrived quickly - a pleasant surprise. We both started with side salads - a nice size proportion of crisp fresh greens tossed with fresh vegetables that went well with the meats. I got the "pick two" choice of ribs and pulled pork while my wife got the pulled pork. The meats were moist and tasty, while the accompanying sides of beans, applesauce, and slaw were not special. The serving size was ample and the pricing was reasonable. Great smells from the parking lot!

Something’s get better with age, but not this place

I have been coming to this place for years, and I still enjoy coming. Here are the buts: Because it is so popular Parking was difficult. The was a lot of hustle and bustle (not something I like). The menu has not changed a lot in the years. What I miss is the wait staff being less busy and more friendly. Now they are too busy. Food was good but took a little longer to get. Everything on the menu was just a bit more pricey. The food was very good. I would recommend it.

Fabulous!!

Fantastic food, atmosphere and waitresses! Food was amazing. The wait was minimal and well worth it. Can’t wait to go back there again. The portions were huge compared to the same meal elsewhere. Was told most items are homemade including a large assortment of sauces.

Gorgeous summer evening

Two things to say: Lots of food and REALLY good. Our family of 4 ordered all ordered the two meat combo so we sampled all they offer. All the meat and all the sides were excellent. Friendly, efficient service (drink refills magically appeared), live music, all made it a great evening

Stick to the ribs

This very conveniently located restaurant is only open for lunch on weekends when parking can be difficult when the lot fills. There is outside seating in a nicely decorated garden area and several different areas inside. We were seated in the quieter lounge area that is nicely spaced out with the usual wooden country style seating and decorated very eclectically. The pulled pork sandwich was very generous. the fries were excellent and copious. The mixed plate of brisket and ribs was also with more than enough food with excellent coleslaw and two large ribs. The ribs were meaty and delicious but the brisket was served in chumks that were a bit tough and dry although they had some sauce over them and on a bed of white bread to catch their drippings. The ribs were outstanding but no so the brisket that was disappointing. Service was very good despite the waitress having to go between different rooms. We would return but stick to the ribs.

Up here for Laconia motorcycle rally and went on 2 separate days. Lunch:brisket sandwich was excellent, great tender taste and smoke. Dinner: St.Louis ribs were meaty, tender, delicious. Beans as a sides were very good. Dirty rice not so good, dry, not much taste. Wish I lived nearby, this woukd be a regular visit.

Huge wings; meh sauces

Quirky down home vibe. Courteous and prompt service. Varied menu and they are known for their wings. The large portion is ample but the sauces were just OK. The honey garlic was just an overly sweet syrup without much flavor. The Jamaican jerk is just mostly a salty flavor without much else. Perhaps other sauces would have been a better choice. Good beer list and full bar.

Dry Ribs, not like advertised

We saw an ad online while looking for a place to go eat for Father's Day 2023 and we were sold on the picture of the ribs. Good thing we made a reservation, when we got there, they told us a minimum wait of 2 hours, but with the reservation, we waited 15 minutes. We ordered the ribs since that was what brought us there. So disappointed. Those ribs were so dry.

Average BBQ with good atmosphere

I visited KC’s with a business colleague in September 2021. The atmosphere and décor were very good and the staff were very friendly and approachable. The food was ok, it arrived promptly but was not very hot, flavours were again ok but nothing to the standards I’ve had while in the USA elsewhere. This is a good spot to stop if passing in Manchester.

Great BBQ!

Get the SHOVEL - believe me you won't be disappointed. It's literally a shovel full of wonderful BBQ (enough for 4 ppl btw!) - pulled pork, smoked chicken, brisket and a WONDERFUL smoked pork sausage. Service was good, food was fantastic! They do have call ahead (and it's worth making a phone call) as the place does get busy because it's extremely popular in the area for good reason!

Best BBQ we have ever eaten!!

After reading some reviews I wasn’t sure how it would go. The service was excellent, the food was fabulous right down to the Amazing sides and cocktails. We had a two meat with brisket and ribs with collard greens and mashed. The brisket is not to be missed. We also had a 3 meat. Ribs, pulled pork, and brisket with coleslaw and dirty rice. My husband is a connoisseur on dirty rice and let me say he was not disappointed. There is nothing I can say negative. This place knows how to make great food.

The “BBQ Standard”

Went on Mother’s Day with nine. Great buffet with the fixings and amazing meat’s. We sat in Tiki and experienced Service that was exceptional with a great attitude and prompt professional attention. Will definitely be back very soon. No wonder they are the standard for BBQ in the area. A great relaxing time for kids and adults alike.

My son and I were excited to try this highly rated BBQ place to leave disappointed. The brisket and mashed potatoes were delicious, but the ribs were extremely dry and the baked beans needed more flavor. My son was happy to have chosen 2 meats instead of a full rack of ribs.

Great, But Busy

We’ve been twice in the past few months. Both times the service was great, food and drinks were excellent, and competitively priced. There is always a wait - a good sign of a good restaurant. Bar is open seating with full menu available. Server was attentive and friendly despite clearly being over busy. They are intentionally nut aware - peanut butter sandwich for kids is a sealed uncrustable and pecan pie is plated in a separate area. This is always relieving.
