Stopped in for a quick bite on our way to Vermont. I honestly found the pricing on the menu to be a bit steep, but the menu offered enough of interest that I was willing to overlook the overpricing. My wife had the Philly Steak sandwich, which was tasty but really should have had more cheese, onions and green peppers. My Brigid McCarthy salad was likewise tasty. I especially enjoyed the warm pear. For $18 I would expect to get more than the paltry amount of chicken that came with the salad. On top of it, the $18 price tag apparently wasn't enough, as they charged me an additional 69-cents for my salad dressing! REALLY? Eighteen dollars was not sufficient to cover the cost of the dressing?? The waitress lacked any semblance of personality. She performed the basic functions of the job, but was pretty dour. She should find a new profession. So the taste of the food was ok. Prices were high, and for the price the servings left something to be desired. Service was sub-standard. Sad to say, it's not a place I'd return to...

So the only reason I gave 4 instead of 5 stars is because the "pub sauce," its really terrible. I didn't finish even half of my otherwise good sandwich because I couldn't stomach any more of it (even after scraping as much as i could off, would have sent it back if i wasn't tight on time.) However, my husband's burger was great and the waitstaff was good. The atmosphere was good and i really hope to go back soon and try something else. But damn that pub sauce was so bad.

Three of us ducked into the Salt Mill in downtown Lebanon, NH on a cold Sunday not knowing what to expect-we were hoping there was more choice in the area but there was not. It was lunchtime and we had time before the show at the playhouse. In short, we had 3 meals and two were excellent and one was okay. The excellent dishes were the Chicken Pesto Flatbread and the Phantom of the Opera burger. Both were very flavorful. The Flatbread was certainly unique and presented itself very well. The burger was also excellent and clearly above normal pub fare. It was a hand made burger and cooked exactly as ordered. The fries were done well, not at all oily. The bread bowl with Beef & Guinness Stew was a bit lacking. The stew base just seemed a bit "out of the drum" although the vegetables were certainly not. There could have been more beef. The bread was excellent. So, two out of three isn't bad when the 3rd wasn't that bad. The wait staff was attentive, polite, and friendly.

Dined here several times over the years and recently returned to see if anything changed. It did, in a big way. We arrived at 5:00pm on a Sunday. Nice weather and the street was taken over by numerous tables. There were only a few people dining there and several servers standing around both inside and outside. We were directed inside to be seated, where we requested an outside table near the fencing. We spoke with two young girls who decided we couldn’t sit there because it wasn’t assigned to the next waiter up. They directed us to a table about 10 feet away near the building and adjacent to the entrance. We were not comfortable with that and asked if we could sit at the table we requested. When the girls declined we pointed out the table was only a few feet from the one they selected and could easily be covered by the same waiter, but they refused to honor our preference. Only two tables were occupied inside so we asked to be seated inside and was escorted to the table next to the hostess at the door. When we discovered the table legs were uneven and complained about it the hostess shrugged her shoulders. We asked if they wanted us to eat there and they both smiled and shrugged their shoulders. We left and walked across the walkway to Three Tomatoes where we were treated with respect and received an excellent meal. During the hour we dined there we noticed that no one entered the dining area and a male waiter stood outside the door smoking on and off. At 6:00pm as we were leaving the area I requested to speak with the manager to provide feedback face to face and was told she was on a break. I voiced my disbelief that a restaurant manager would take a break during a weekend dinner hour and left. Just in case there is a response using the pandemic as an excuse for what we experienced, allow me to dismiss that right now. The events witnessed was poor customer service, plain and simple. I believe there were more employees there during the time we were than there were customers. The only staff shortage was related to customer service. I hope the owners take action before this once good restaurant goes belly up. If they don’t, I hope tax dollars don’t bail them out for ignoring it.

This was a good restaurant/Pub. Food was good but seemed a little high on the price side. Not sure if this is just a trend with the price of everything going up or their normal pricing as I am from out of town. I got the fish and chips which was a good portion of fish but was I worried about if it was cooked enough. Tasted good and I did not get sick so I guess it was ( if I’m honest I probably overcook my fish anyways so they may been spot on) Pub fries were good as well. In short , food was decent and service was friendly.

My wife and I usually have a great experience at Salt Hill and go there frequently, but our experience last night was an absolute abomination! We ordered online for pickup - and that's when the trouble started. We showed up and they had given our order to another family. Understandable, things happen, but that family's last name stared with "K" and our last name starts with "D" - HUH?? So now we have to wait to have our order remade. The "manager", never got her name, but is the auburn haired lady, never once apologized, and after 15 minutes of waiting, when I asked for an eta of our order, she got defensive and said "It'll be ready when it's ready". So, we finally get our order, still no apology and no discount for their mix-up making us now wait 30 minutes for our order. We still like Salt Hill, but they need to get rid of the auburn haired manager who is in the wrong line of business!

I would think during covid any business is good business for Salt Hill Pub. Not true. Take out is terrible. Told our order would be ready in 15 minutes. Try 30 minutes. The staff member who brought out our order had one takeout container of food on its side and was dripping all over my son when given to us through our car window. No napkins to clean up. She seemed like she was mad that she had to come out. The pulled pork nachos was nachos with maybe 3 tablespoons of pork. Not at all like when you order it inside the restaurant. What a rip off. The sandwiches we got were ok but the fries were cold. Maybe they don't want you ordering at all. Better to stay home or go elsewhere.

Came here to have dinner with a whole bunch of friends. The place serves more Irish inspired food. We had nachos, onion rings and brussel sprouts for appetizer and my favorite was the brussel sprouts. For entree, my steak was not bad. It was more done than I was hoping for but still did not matter too much. Tips: when you order a drink that involves vodka, be sure to tell them the kind of vodka you want. I did not and I ended up not liking my martini.

We were staying at the Fireside inn and this place came highly recommended in reviews. We walked in the atmosphere was pleasant. There was musical entertainment and her voice was amazing. This is where the good review ends. We waited at the hostess station for a bit and no one returned to it to seat us. We decided to seat ourselves because there was no sign stating otherwise. 3 waitstaff and what appeared to be a house manager passed us numerous times made eye contact and never once spoke to us. We even asked at one point if we could get some service and were ignored. After 20 minutes of this we left and will never return even though we frequent the area quite often. Horrible customer service !

We enjoyed eating outside at a table under a tent with lovely flowers surrounding it. We had the fish & chips and chose from a good selection of microbrews. The fish portion was large, the coleslaw was tasty, and the fries appeared to be homemade. The wait staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive.

We typically head to Three Tomatoes when we're looking for something to eat in Leb, principally because we know we can get GF pasta and my son never met a peperoni pizza he didn't love. Don't recall why we instead headed across the street, but it was worth the visit. Menu typical, quality OK, prices OK. Nothing to jump up and down about, but nothing to complain about either. Oh, except they have hand-cut fries, which is always a bonus IMO. I kinda liked the not-overstuffed "saloon" vibe on the inside, and on this particular occasion my in-laws were in town & my FIL appreciated the football game on one of TVs scattered around the walls. The *only* thing that was really bad was the wait time. We got some wings and frickles to share (wings: good; frickles: to high a breadcrumb to pickle ratio), but had to wait an HOUR AND HALF for our entrees (mostly burgers and salads). The restaurant was not bursting at the seams, though they did still have their outside section open and I'm not sure how busy they were out there. Our server told us they had new people in the kitchen and they were backed up... but this was the same server who didn't know what a "full bar" was, so I'm not sure if that's really the reason. Had we not had my "hangry" 12yo with us, we would have left. Could do better.

We had a beautiful experience here! After driving 6 hours, the last 3 of which were a slow crawl up I91 in a heavy blizzard , we pulled up at Salt Point at 9 pm just as they were closing. As I walked up, they shut off their Open light, but I knocked on the door, they said they were closed , but when I asked if there was anything else in the area open, they said, “if you’re ok with a bowl of stew, since our kitchen is closed, we’re happy to serve you”. I guess our daughter helped complete our helpless look. Any way, they sat us down, fed us delicious stew & Irish Soda bread.. My exhausted husband got a nice big hoppy ale, my daughter got an ice cream sundae and, then when we asked for a check, the waiter said the manager said the meal was on the house! Bear in mind, there was by now a foot and a half of new snow and the staff was very ready to go home. We were so touched by this incredible act of kindness. Oh, and the vintage 70s playlist was pretty awesome too. I really have not experienced anything so compassionate in years and years of international travel. Thank you Salt Point for rescuing us from the cold & snow!

It was empty when we arrived and that should’ve been the sign! This place is highly rated? Why? It was awful!! There were 3 of us, no booze and we still paid $80 for lunch. The Reuben didn’t have any dressing or Swiss cheese on it, they definitely use frozen Sysco ingredients, fish and chips had no flavor and was that bagged coleslaw? Hand cut French fries? Who can cut them that uniformed? Was the bread frozen when it hit the grill? Sure tasted like that. I, myself, have been in the industry for over 30 years and find it harder and harder to eat out. Places are getting so far away from fresh, house made ingredients and it shows. This place was no exception.

While the atmosphere is fun - our 2 sandwich choices were barely edible because of ridiculously undercooked bacon. The turkey sandwich was ok after taking the barely cooked bacon off but the avocado blt not only had the same nasty bacon but barely any avocado. I’d probably try the place again but stay away from the sandwiches.

We've been avoiding this place recently, mainly because of the bar. We did go back for dinner last week and as usual the food was really really good, the service (new waitress, commuting from way out in VT) fun and prompt, and the bar even worse than usual...won't be going back, too many other good choices around. My scotch was TINY, small glass filled with ice, and I doubt even one jigger, and expensive. My wife's margarita had zero perceptible tequila, and she doesn't drink very much so really notices a good pour.
