One step down from high school cafeteria food. Poor quality, bland flavors, dirty location and rude employees. Save your money!

Short Version: If you are looking for a simple seafood experience overlooking a beautiful lake on a nice summer evening; look no further. Long Version: The experience here was really great. This place is very unassuming, but once you get inside and see their view...of the lake, you understand a little better why it is such a great find. When you arrive you order your food off a menu; similar to a take-out style ordering. They give you an order number to place on your table so they can bring the food out to you. Their prices were relatively decent for when you consider the overall cost of seafood. Additionally, they have a bar (with no seating; safe to assume that is due to COVID-19 regulations) where after ordering you can drinks prior to sitting. Their bartender was fantastic and she made a great drink too. Prices here were also in line with what you could consider standard prices. The overall wait time for food was not bad either, with our meal coming out 20 minutes after sitting. My only complaint, and reason for 4 stars versus 5 is the appetizer and meal came out within minutes of each other. Final thoughts: Absolutely recommend trying this place if you are craving well cooked seafood on a beautiful summer evening and want to overlook a gorgeous lake.More

This is the first time in a long time eating at a restaurant. We ate outside on the patio. Tables well distanced. Food was excellent. Clean up was less than stellar compared to what should be done because of COVID. No wipe down of chairs,...table just wiped clean with a wet cloth.More

I had the fried clams with french fries and onion rings. Best french frries I have ever had. The clams and onion rings were great, too. My husband had baked haddock. There were two haddock fillets with stuffing in the middle; never seen haddock served...that way. That will be my choice next time. The restaurant is on a lake so the view was exceptional. We sat inside next to the window, but there is also seating on an outside deck. You place your order at a window in the entry way. They bring the meals to your table. Some people might not like this.More

WE ate outside under an umbrella and had a beautiful view of the Lake. The staff were friendly and the food was delicious. The corn was slightly overcooked but otherwise the rest of the meal (scallops, side salad) was excellent with very large portions.

Took my Mom and her husband here for dinner on a beautiful Sunday night. It was my first time here, and despite the few negative reviews, our experience was very good. I like that you pay for your food when you order at the counter...when you walk in. That way, you don't have to go through "the back and forth process" of waiting around at the end of your meal. The weather was nice and warm, so we sat out on the large outdoor patio overlooking the beautiful lake. Nice laid back, no frills casual dining. We had the baked haddock, a haddock sandwich and coconut shrimp. All of our meals were very good! We also ordered a side of calamari. Now I gotta say, that I'm not a calamari fan, as I don't like it when it's chewy. This was not chewy at all and was actually very tender and good! I particularly liked the light batter. We also had good, friendly service. We really enjoyed our dinner experience here and looking forward to coming back again.More

I will start with the only nice thing about Bolton's: The view. The view is beautiful and relaxing over looking Kingston Lake. Extremely nice. I should add that the woman taking our order was sweet and efficient. The food was absolutely terrible. We order the...fish and chips which was advertised as Haddock.I truly must question if it was Haddock. After 40+ years in the seafood industry I believe I am qualified to judge Haddock. The flakiness and texture and color was not like any Haddock I ever had. The French fries were acceptable but I have definately had better. Their onion rings are no longer freshly home made as in the past. They are frozen. We used to love this place but sadly to say, we are moving on and not returning. Extremely disappointed!More

We love the deck, and the view of the lake. We have always made it a point to visit several time a season, but our last visit has us wondering if we will go back. I don't know why, with a place that is not...packed, does it take 45 mi. to fry some scallops & fries. The "bartender" on our first visit didn't know how to make the drinks, and took approx. 20 min. to make & serve them (juicy, not much rum). The bartender on our last visit was very good. When we received our meals (scallop w/onion ring, and lobster roll w/ fries, The scallop plate was at best, lukewarm, and less scallops than previous years, The runner dropped of the plates, and I had to call her back to get the cocktail sauce & slaw that comes with it. We used to love this place, but that's two strikes this year. May be a while before we return.More
