The variety was about what you would expect for a $10 buffet. It was not crowded but they seated us next to another group, and the woman sitting next to us did not feel the need to pull her chair in so getting by her was pretty tough. They kept the coffee coming and the food was decent but nothing... More

We found this old restaurant built in 1686, well kept, has nice set up inside, clean, menu offers steaks, to seafood, I went with my husband and another couple, the guys had steaks, they were cooked to perfection and very tasty. The ladies had the lobster tail with 2 stuffed shrimp, with baked potato, all were wonderful. Their loaf of... More

We stopped here for dinner on a Friday evening while visiting family in the area. It was not crowded and were seated immediately with a group of five. The setting in an old New England house was lovely, the wait staff was prompt and friendly, and the food was good. The Prime Rib and Broiled Haddock were actually very good.... More

My wife and I made reservations on a Friday night, which were not needed. We heard good things about this place so were looking forward to it. We should of went else where. I ordered the wiener schnitzel and my wife ordered the lobster pie which was more like bread crumb pie, for 26.00 the was only a few pieces... More

Just wondering if you are taking reservations for New Years Eve 2015? Would love to make one! Our meal was delicious and we all had something different - I had the prime rib. Yum

Has been a few years since we ate at the Kingston House...sadly, the food did not meet our expectations. The shrimp cocktail, french onion soup and the baked stuffed lobster..were delicious. The most disappointing meal was the prime rib....very tough piece of beef, baked potato wasn't fully cooked, my husband barely ate his chicken dish... Just not good....

We have eaten at this restaurant several times, most recently on Thanksgiving. As is often the case, holidays tend to be busier than usual and the service suffers as a result. The food was excellent nonetheless and the staff was friendly but frazzled. Our main complaint that day was that dessert was not included in the fixed price meal and... More

1st time back in many years and we weren't disappointed. We live in Kingston so when we go out it is usually to an upscale restaurant in Portsmouth or someplace farther away. But we had a really good dinner on this Holiday weekend Saturday night. It was not as busy as I expected, but great food with a quiet atmosphere... More

This great old place seems forgotten and for two reasons. One is the dining room only had one other patron there for dinner when we arrived.( Two other parties arrived before we left). The service was very good as was the food. The menu is large and varied. The other reason it seems forgotten is that this beautiful authenic old... More

Had lunch on a Saturday evening.... Place was empty when first arriving, but full when we left. Meals ordered were scrumptious. Service was very good --- we had more than one waitress as she was busy, but not a "beat" was missed --- excellent service! Prices very reasonable. Definitely an enjoyable dinner.....
