We caught them in their first week as they ramp up to a full menu and staff and the addition of lunches soon. Everything was fresh and delicious with a new approach that is way out of the ordinary. I'll always love the old T.H.E. but this new version will not disappoint and you should give it a try. The... More

This great local restaurant has new owners and is open again in Jackson Village. Still the charming farmhouse decor with a fresh look and lots of familiar faces. New chef/owner Jeffrey Fournier, owner of 51 Lincoln and the Waban Kitchen in Newton have now settled in Jackson with his wife Kate and their family. We enjoyed sampling appetizers during our... This was my favorite eating place in Jackson, but it closed for good in Dec 2014, after 37 years under one owner/ chef. No plans to re- open. 😟

We always plan to dine at THE when in the Jackson area, so it was the biggest disappointment of our most recent trip that the restaurant closed its doors a few weeks ago. We'd been going there since it opened as a "summer only" place a few decades ago.

We loved our visit to the T.H.E.! Even on a windy, rainy night the back deck, protected by side curtains was warm, cozy and relaxing. Loved the assortment of vintage linen table clothes they use, the food was outstanding, the service was spot on. It would be fair to say that the food, instead of being prepared, was artfully crafted.... More

We enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner at the T.H.E. and were so sad to learn that it is now closed. The service was fabulous, the owners cordial and welcoming as they greeted old friends and new patrons with equal grace and attention. We wish them the very best as they move on to new endeavors.

For 30 plus years, THE set the standard in the Valley! What an amazing ride! THE closing leaves a "Zorba the Grape" sized hole in my culinary adventures! A class act, all the way to the last chocolate truffle! If your reading this, it's already too late! I had a dream last night....... THE owners walking on a beach, hand... More

We are extremely sad they are closing, but wish the owners lots of happiness in their future endeavors. We have had many wonderful memories at The Thompson House. The food, atmosphere and staff was incredible.
