We were there when the doors opened and had to wait 5 minutes to be seated; 15 minutes to get our appetizers; 25 minutes to get our entrees. Those time were AFTER we ordered. People who arrived after us were done before we were so chalk it up to very poor service. However, that does not account for the fact... More

Ate at the shovel handle our first night in Jackson. It came highly recommended by the proprietor of the B&B we stayed at and didn't disappoint. Had the pasta and loved it. My wife and daughter enjoyed their meals as well.

We visited this pub yesterday and loved the beautiful old building, full of character and attractively lit. I had pork chops with caramelised apples and onions - really nicely cooked and a large portion. My husband raved about his pulled pork sandwich. Live music was an asset

I've now been to the Shovel Handle Pub on 3 occasions. The first time I got the ribs, which came glazed in a savory BBQ sauce and the meat falls off the bone. I did get to steal a steak tip from my wife which is what brought us back a second time. While I had the steak tips on... More

We dined here on a girls weekend and the Shovel Handle Pub lived up to its reputation. The food was excellent. I had the lobster risotto which was delicious..lots of lobster and perfectly cooked. My friends raved about the sirloin tips and brie chicken. The live entertainment was super and the wait staff friendly and accommodating. Jen went out of... More

We have always been pleased with both the service and the food at the Shovel Handle Pub. In addition to a lovely setting (inside barn), they often have singers/performers on weekends, and that has always been pleasant. There is plenty of space, both on the main level, and in the upper loft and lower levels. Recommend calling ahead, as they... More

Having been given rave reviews from the hotel we stayed in ,the family were looking forward to a great meal. The pub only served up to 9pm and although we were there in time, we were refused a table as there were at least 2 other parties waiting, the pub is obviously very popular but we felt the organisation on...
