This is a country store with lots of history which is fascinating. You are certain to have fresh ingredients and locally grown meat and produce when you order breakfast or lunch. They are only open until 6pm. Supper in New England is historically 4 or 5 pm the latest. There are tables interspersed among old photographs of celebrities and famous... More

My husband and I recently stopped in to Roots Cafe at Robie's country store. Food was so good. I had the pull pork sandwich and my husband had a burger. The potions were really big. The service great. It is such a quaint place and so clean. Just delightful.

What a gem! We decided to check out Roots Café in historic Robie's Country Store. The store was filled with tables and quaint charm. Julie greeted us with menus and invited us to sit anywhere. We placed our order at the counter, then wandered around the store while we waited for our food. We were served unique, delicious salads and... More

If you are looking for an authentic place Robie's is the right one! Nice atmosphere and great local food (you can read the name of the farm the meat comes from!!), something really different from the other places! We moved from Rome to Hooksett and we are so happy to have such a lovely café/country store in our new town... More

Roots Cafe is located inside the original Robie's store in the center of Hooksett Village right on the Merrimack River. We have been there at breakfast, lunch and a group dinner meeting. The food and quantity were both excellent. If you like BLT sandwiches, this place is the best anywhere ! Breads are homemade and the service is great.

We ordered a "business meeting special platter" for 42 people and it was outstanding. Wonderful experience, from ordering to the delivery and to my favorite part, eating! Everything was very high quality made, fresh and tasty, beautifully presented. My crew ate every last bit of it! I have not eaten at the reastaurant yet, but if the food is half... More

This large store/cafe is near Concord center off Main St and very close to highway 93. While we were too late for breakfast, if it's anything like our lunch, it is tasty although it's hard to mess up pancakes. We ordered "The Willow" which was a chicken and spinach wrap and the pulled pork sandwich. Both were larger portions than... More

Their breakfasts are fresh, hot, and delicious. Blueberry Brioche French Toast is my favorite! The portion is quite large and served with real maple syrup.

We were on our way up to Wolfeboro and stopped at Robie's for lunch. The wraps we got were delicious, and we enjoyed looking at all of the photos of notable visitors. Also cute items for sale and wonderful service!

Had a delicious lunch with the girls. Had heard of Robie's and knew it had a long history but had never been there. The old pictures were fun to look at as was the wide variety of antique decorations and retro products. And to top it off the menu was varied, food very good, and flavored ice teas were great.... Robie's Country Store has long been the premier, must-visit stop along the campaign trail during Presidential and local elections in New Hampshire. Listed in the NH and National Register of Historic Places, Robie's has served locals, river traffic, mill workers, and rail traffic since it opened in 1822. The building, from its well-worn floorboards to the sunbaked front porch and the picnic tables looking over the Merrimack River, gives evidence of over a century of service as a local New England market. Robie's has served as a campaign stop for both Mitt Romney and his father George Romney, and Jimmy Carter walked through these doors as a relatively unknown candidate...as have many politicians dating back to the 1950s. Evidence of the political history adorns the walls. Moving into modern times, Robie's welcomes the movement to "buy local" and serves as a café and market where you'll find the best NH locally-made goods alongside a menu featuring the freshest locally-grown food available...and famous pancakes! Amber and Josh Enright bring their full menu from Roots Catering to Robie's. "This is really how you had to run a store before mass production. Your local market sold locally-made goods." said Amber. The café at Robie's features an eclectic take on many classic New England foods and also includes a rotation of fresh salads, delicious soups, and hot/cold sandwiches. The market taps into small-batch, homemade items made locally throughout NH and New England to offer a high-quality selection across candies, gifts, stationery, cooking supplies, cheeses, oils, and numerous other items. Open for breakfast and lunch with take-out available. Featuring Java Tree coffee and full espresso bar, Nashoba Brook slow rise bread, fresh baked scones, quiches, frittatas, and much, much more.
