The place to go for coffee

All coffee is brewed here individually, and it's sold in bags as well. Many kinds of coffees are available, often including Jamaica Blue Mountain. Good pastries and basic sandwiches, with tables that invite lingering.

The last trip I made here was very disappointing back in Feb 2015, but decided to give it another shot. Now as much as I have always loved Dirt Cowboy since first visiting in 2000, it isn't quite as good now - there's something lacking - but its difficult to say what the issue it - perhaps its the server's... I Have enjoyed coffee and pastries here many times. Expensive but good. Today I thought I would have a healthy fresh juice drink. Ordered 2 medium, carrot, celery and beet juice drinks. Looking at 3 plastic cups displayed on the back wall ordered the middle cup thinking medium. Watching the person working the juicer I should have just stopped him... More

The service was amazing at this little place. She suggested what kind of sandwich was good and was very friendly and courteous. My sandwich was just a baguette with some turkey, spinach, and tomato. Seemed that was the only real option, and was somewhat lackluster for $7.00. The baked goods looked great and there was a good number of people... More

This coffee shop is a popular student destination with long lines, small tables and good stuff to eat!

I don't know what's worse about dirt cowboy, the service (slow and unfriendly) or the atmosphere (crowded and pretentious in an unemployed-philosophy-major-taking-the-moral-high-ground sort of way). The baked goods are good, the tea selection is diverse and well priced, and the espresso based drinks are good but not a standout. As much as I love to patronize local placed, I'd rather... More

Excellent coffee and pastries just off the Dartmouth green. The warm and cozy back room is a great place to talk, study or just avoid the north wind. Lunch looks good as well.

I was a little surprised to see how limited the menu was for this restaurant. I has peanut butter and banana on wheat toast. It took longer than expected and was tasty. I was looking for something a little more unique. Not a bad experience - it filled me up.

In its heydey, this was hands down superior coffee. The issue is the high turnover and the servers who aren't always up to the job. I was the first person in line to order coffee but somehow my order got lost and after 15 minutes, the woman realized she forgot to enter it and it ended up taking 25 minutes... More

plus the view to the Dartmouth green, the Main St. and superb place to have a break, learn what is new in town or hear to stories of Appalachian trail hikers. Yes they do have and excellent selection of fresh, by order made sandwiches and other pastries. My favorite cafe at Dartmouth. :)
