We stopped to look around Dartmouth on our way to Rutland, and found Lou's while we were walking around town. Fabulous food and friendly staff. We were sitting at the counter and struck up conversations with local residents, something we haven't been able to do in many of the places we have visited. Great place for a meal and dessert.

The specials were German so the adults indulged in wurst plates or sandwiches. The children were delighted with the mouse pancake. We left with a bag of cider donuts - yum.

This is a very well established eatery. We were referred to this eatery by friends in Grantham. With a little follow-up research we knew this would be a busy place but we had no idea how busy (or well-known). We money in the meter and waited about 17 minutes. Breakfast is delicious; lunch must be wonderful. She had the French... More

This is a very well established eatery. There was a long line for tables. My husband & I opted for seats at the counter. It was fun watching how the staff buzzed around taking orders & serving customers. I had a muffin & my husband had a waffle. He said it was the lightest waffle he'd ever had & my... More

We knew from the reviews this was a busy restaurant especially on a beautiful fall Saturday morning...we got there at 8am and only waited about 20 minutes and we're so glad we did...the food was wonderful get the Big Green! We took apple cider donuts with us only 3 and wished we had gotten a dozen

Lou's is just like family to us now! My wife and I paid a quick impromptu visit to our son at Dartmouth and for the 5 days we were there, we ate breakfast every day at Lou's and even ate lunch there once as well. Currently, they are offering German and Austrian lunch specials that are so fantastic! I had... More

While visiting Vermont/New Hampshire we took the recommendation of a local to have brunch here. We will come back again before we head back to Iowa. The service (Becky) was exemplary, the good OUTSTANDING, even the long line wait moved quickly. THANK YOU LOU'S!!!!! Your HARD work is certainly appreciated!!!

Lou's is a favorite little breakfast stop for our family. The place is usually full, so it probably wouldn't work best for a huge group, but great for small families with little kidds. Homemade donuts are AMAZING! I suggest the maple-bacon. Staff is delightful and the food is wonderfully delicious. Definitely need to visit if you're in the area!

On the weekends the wait time can be long; buts so totally worth the wait!! Their homemade hash is Devine, as is their eggs Benedict! Lots of updated menu options, something for everyone. If you're in Hanover you HAVE to eat breakfast at Lou's. Oh.. Their pastries/cakes/pies are to die for too

Everyone goes to Lou's. The line moves reasonably fast, service is quick and friendly, breakfast is humongous! Plus malteds! Try to leave room for pie
