Disappointed that items are not cooked to order, like ham and cheese croissant and they ran out quickly with no back ups and slim # of choices.

Not the friendliest staff, but excellent food. The chicken salad was chunks of chicken with delicious seasonings mixed in on fresh bread. A small pickle is the only side item included, but they do sell chips. The bakery also offers more upscale items. The peach almond tart was average. This is a counter service restaurant for ordering. Our food was... More

Atmosphere - Sitting outside in the summertime is very pleasant. The interior is a bit gloomy. Service - personable Very good cappuccino Egg and bacon mini-pie - very dry My wife's green salad w/ chicken salad scoop - serviceable Overall - a nice place to meet around coffee/beverages, but keep your food expectations in check.

Visited based on a favorable review by Yankee magazine. Several of our group purchased meat pies. All were very disappointed. Sausage was hard and flavorless. Chicken was better but none in our group were impressed. FYI, we brought pies home and reheated, but all in group had same poor result.

Nice local bakery that has many freshly baked options. Love the muffins and the cookies. Terrific place to take a load off and hang out while catching the Dartmouth vibe.

This bakery and lunch spot is just off the center of town, and not very obvious as a place to visit. Therefore, the clientele is mainly local folks who know it well. It's easy to use and the food is solid.

They have wonderful baked treats, but I come for the handcrafted sandwiches. On their own bread, of course, with tasty fillings. Cozy, relaxed atmosphere. Free Wi-Fi.

I stopped here for lunch and purchased some chocolate truffles too. My sandwich was much better in writing than as delivered. The flavors were somewhat incongruous. The truffles looked great but again, did not deliver in flavor. I may give them another try next time in town. A restaurant with a similar theme that executes is "Forage" in Lewiston, ME.

The Umpleby's bakery is the best french bakery in Hanover/Lebanon area with good croissant and pain au chocolat to eat with a gorgeous coffee. You can buy baguette and a lot of fresh baked breads.

I have been to Umpleby's a number of times for coffee and lunch, as I work close by. The food and beverages are delicious; however, the front counter service needs to be greatly improved. The staff handle money at the register, but do not wear food service gloves when preparing coffee drinks - eeww! The service is extremely slow. Always.... More

Can you please add sandwiches and/or lunch spot to your type of cuisines. Bakery is so limiting and doesn't really describe many places that sell sandwiches on homemade bread and coffee and salads etc.
