We enjoy coming here a couple times during the Summer. There's nothing fancy, just what I'd call wholesome family dining. More or less what I grew up with in the 70's. As the name indicates, seafood is the theme and specialty, but they have a...More

I figured I would try the restaurant because I am staying at the Inn while in town on business. The menu has lots of choices. The servers go out of their way to help. The food was outstanding and if you are a fan of...More

I think the old salt is a decent place for lunch and drinks, it's kind of touristy but it goes with the area.

First time visit. My sis and I were having a girl's getaway 4 day weekend. Semi casual atmosphere, very welcoming. Entrance into dining room somewhat congested. Difficult to enter as other guests are leaving. Very different and interesting cocktail menu. Menu varied, from seafood to...More

We try to get to The Old Salt at least once a year, and visited on June 26 for dinner. We shared the Clambake for Two and we're not disappointed. New England clam chowder, steamed clams, boiled lobster, corn on the cob, garlic mashed potatoes,...More

We just visited for my birthday meal. The stuffed mushrooms tasted mainly just of bread. The North Atlantic haddock was very bland and a little over cooked. Not worth $17.99. Lobster roll was ok. Felt like it's been served a million times and a bit...More

We went here for a casual Friday night. I would say it's midrange - classic décor, feels like you're in a lounge - it's connected to a bed and breakfast. Little Neck's on the half shell were DELICIOUS and lobster roll was ample and tasty....More

Delicious, as always! The waitress was awesome and the swordfish was fabulous. Chowder was great. We always eat here when visiting Hampton Beach-wouldn't miss it for the world!

During a recent stay at Lamie's Inn - my husband and I enjoyed a wonderful dinner at The Old Salt Restaurant - which is adjacent to Lamie's Inn. The Old Salt has a long, distinguished history in the area and they deserve all the applause...More

They use fresh, local seafood. And it's typically great. Regarding the shrimp, they are without a doubt frozen because the only native shrimp in these waters are tiny, and only available during late Fall and Winter.

I believe that they are pretty open about that. I'm sure they'd be ok with it, but to make sure, I'd phone them.
