Nice menu with a variety of foods. Great for family dining. The food is good. The waitresses especially in bar aren't friendly. They need to retire! Rude. If your looking for a place to bring the family, it's perfect in the main dining room. Be sure to try the Sunday buffet!

My husband and I recently learned of this gem and decided to check it out--and we are so glad we did! Although the building is located on a busy intersection, there is no problem with parking at its huge parking lot. We entered a cozy and warm atmosphere, with a giant hearth and fire blazing with relaxing music playing. Our... More

We went out for dinner at 5:15 PM on the Sunday of a holiday weekend. The servers were awesome! We have an 8-month-old, and an 8 and 10-year-old. The food was excellent and was prepared in a reasonable amount of time. It was just a laid back evening with phenomenal service! Will definitely be back!

Each and every time my husband and I come to eat here, it is 100% spot on! We made reservations and we couldn't have been happier to be seated right in front of the fireplace. Our waitress was very pleasant and knew the menu well. When our food came it was hot & scrumptious. I had the broiled Scallops and... More

This reviewer is a many time visitor to the Old Salt. As a "local" I feel blessed to be surrounded by so many outstanding restaurant choices, and the Old Salt rates as one of my top choices. While I cannot ever remember having a mediocre meal there, I definitely have a strong bias towards their baked haddock dinner. If it... More

We visited on New Year's Day. We got shrimp cocktail with jumbo shrimp, it was great! Got a chopped sirloin dinner with rice pilaf and veggie and the baked haddock dinner, baked potato and veggie. The dinners were good but unfortunately due to stomach issues the pilaf could not be eaten because they add peppers to it and we didn't... More

I remember dining here with my parents over 30 years ago when it was Lamie's Tavern. I noticed that it was now the Old Salt, and rated #1 in Hampton on TripAdvisor. Considering our recent experiences, this should have raised a red flag. We were seated by a window next to US 1. This would ordinarily be considered a desirable... More

My hubby and I had a great dinner here. It is such a warm, cozy place to eat. It seemed so intimate, even tho' there were a lot of other customers there. The architecture was so interesting. The prices were more than reasonable. I had the Baked Stuffed Haddock with Lobster Sauce. Yummy!! My hubby had the shrimp and broccoli... More

I recently booked the Old Salt for my mother's 86th Birthday and Family dinner. Needless to say it was perfect! Management furnished us a beautiful table for 10 in a room with a fireplace. The menu was extensive and everyone had an incredible meal. Our waitress was Marcia K. and she was a hoot. Great personality on always on her... More
