I'd never been to Bernies, it was about what you'd expect. A lot of tables closed due to weather and staffing. We split the Fisherman's platter which was OK, very expensive. The clam chowder was excellent as was the cold coke on this hot day.

Lobster roll ham no flavor and mashed potatoes was cold. No broth for steamers we was given hot water and the butter tasted funny. The calamari basket was good
We loved the ocean front deck with a great view of the beach and cornhole games in the back area. The hostess and our server were very friendly. No wait at all on this Friday afternoon. The drinks and food came out quickly, but we...never felt rushed. I had coconut shrimp and the haddock sandwich, all very good. My husband had the fried scallops and haddock special. The scallps were cooked perfectly, and all of our fried food was in a light batter. The chowder was really good too. I had a pina colado that was very weak though. Oh well.More
We visited Bernie's at least 3 times in two days. They have a ton of staff, no waiting for drinks or meals. Food was good, drinks were good and great live entertainment!
We don't go to the beach that much, but when we do, we have always come here. I know the pandemic slammed all businesses, but to make up for your losses, when you re-open, you aren't allowed to print one price on your UPDATED Summer...2022 menu and charge a higher price on the bill. And when a customer questions the price difference, and the mystery $2 "surcharge" at the bottom of the bill, being told that it's the right price in the computer, and the surcharge is "for the food"...what? you've already overcharged me for the food) is NOT AN ACCEPTABLE ANSWER. There was no offer to make it right. Just FYI, 2 small draft beers, one order of Conch Fritters, and 2 Fried Haddock sandwiches came to $73 before tip. Pretty pricey for lunch. Not that this restaurant cares whether or not we come back, but Bernie's has seen the last of us. Shame on them.More
I was somewhat skeptical when our neighbor said let's walk over to Bernie's. During summer season I would not go near a place like this. It is definitely a party place in the summer. In October Bernie's is a good place to eat especially on...a nice sunny day. We all ordered the special 2 lobsters for $16.00. The lobsters were soft shell small but really good. It is a very good deal, fries are good too.More
It was nice to enjoy lunch right near the beach. We shared haddock and scallops along with the caesar salad- food was excellent- very tasty- wie drank unsweetened iced tea. Service was excellent-- it was crowded but we were able to enjoy the delicious food....Nice atmosphere- would definitely eat there again when we are inn Hampton New HampshireMore
I went with a group of good friends to take advantage of the advertised twin lobster special for lunch on a Sunday and to enjoy the view from the deck. The "host" at the podium was arrogant and dismissive, roughly stamping our hands with an...ink stamp because we were eating upstairs. Our party of seven was seated promptly and had a great view. First off, the lobster special was more expensive than advertised on their website by a few dollars. We went ahead and six out of seven of us ordered it anyway. Our server was almost as surly as the "host" was. As soon as he realized that we were not going to order alcohol, he clearly lost interest in us and adopted a smirking, condescending attitude. Most of us ordered the unsweetened ice tea for our beverage, only to be told that they didn't have any kind of sweetener, but he would "see if the bartender could find any". He came back a while later with a small plastic cup of clumped old white sugar. None of us wanted to use it as it appeared to be scraped from God knows what old bin. He smirked as he handed it to us and said they don't have it because they don't serve coffee or tea. What exactly is unsweetened ice tea? If he had apologized or at least pretended to care we wouldn't have thought much of it. The food was good and the lobsters were very small but sweet, so that was acceptable. However, the staff made it very clear that they could have cared less if we were there at all, much less whether we enjoyed our experience. We realize this is not a five star restaurant, but the staff should always treat customers with respect and courtesy.More
Even though we were on street level we still enjoyed the view of the beach and ocean. The bar has a great selection of custom cocktails and the draft selection is varied enough to please most people. Lainey our server is outstanding; she had suggestions...of things to do in the area and where we were going next. She also made a delicious cocktail using Skrewball peanut butter whiskey that I haven’t ever had.More
Enjoyed our supper at Bernies. Wait was minimal, our table was right on the glass over looking the boardwalk. Was very loud and a little intimidating for our kids (10 and 6), but I would still describe this place as kid friendly despite the fact...that it is going more for the bar atmosphere than seaside restaurant. Had a nice gluten free menu for my wife.More
We visit New Hampshire every two years, and we always make sure to visit Bernie's Beach Bar at Hampton Beach. This year's August visit (2021) was dampened slightly by cool, cloudy weather. On the upside, parking wasn't a problem. The downside: We couldn't sit on...the deck with the wind blowing a bit too much. Regardless, the service was super, and the food was, as always, delicious. If you're visiting Hampton, you need to make this your place for lunch or dinner.More
Chicken tenders were ok. Cold and could have been crispier. Margaritas are too sweet and bottled beer was too warm. Nice spot and I imagine great night life. Seemed clean enough. Waiter was wonderful. Nice and fast service. Probably wouldn't go back though.
Matt made our visit extremely amazing!! The food was awesome, the drinks were delicious and the service was fantastic!
Was with my family and took my sister ID (she’s 22) wouldn’t give it back until we got the cops. Said it was a fake. We had to flag them down just to get her card back. Food and drinks are great, bouncer SUCKS. he...didn’t even take a second glance after looking at it for less than a second. Be careful. Don’t come here if you don’t want your ID stolen. Just to clarify, the bouncer had a big beard. Just be careful how you talk to your customers please, we’re just trying to give you business:).More
Love Bernie's. It has wonderful food and you can sit outside and watch the ocean. The staff is great. It is a must do at Hampton
