Stopped by on an overnight stop in Exeter. Thought we found a Brew Pub, but when we were ushered to the dining room, we were given a menu without pub offerings. Hmmm. Selections sounded good so we ordered a pork chop entree and a haddock piccata. The Merlot offering was actually quite good, but the Riesling was poor. We learned... More

We thought we would give this restaurant another try. We just had appetizers and drinks. The bartenders were very friendly and gave us great service. The kitchen was extremely slow and the restaurant was not busy. When we finally got our food, it was not very good. The flatbread pizza was thick and doughy and had way too much cheese.... More

Very good Pub food and drinks menu, everytime we walk by the kitchen vent on the sidewalk it smells wonderful! LOL. Cute little bar and dining area, a little small but cozy.

Stopped off here with a friend after a late meeting in town. Quick drink at the bar and a quick nibble. I don't think I would go back if there other options available but it was ok for what it is. Caprese salad was good but expensive for what it was and similar type food in the area. Don't order... More

Given the Tavern's name and location, I expected more from his pub. The beer list was very small and the local brews on draft were nothing special. Being right in the sweet-spot of Water Street with the river behind it, the pub has the potential to be something cool, but it isn't. The atmosphere felt a bit grimy and cheap.

We began with the warm bavarian pretzel, which was very good and came with three dipping sauces. My wife ordered the cornish game hen and bison chili , it was a bit too spicy for me , but she throughly enjoyed it with the warm cornbread that accompanied the dish. I enjoyed my chargrilled burger and fresh hand cut fries.... More

Stopped in for a quick dinner before a lecture and we sat in the bar. Had a great meal and enjoyed the atmosphere and staff a lot! Recommend for a fun Friday evening

I like the ambience here and the view of the river. The food is very good. I had the hangar steak this time, and it was cooked perfectly. The portions are decent, and the prices are reasonable. Service can be a bit slow at times. There's also a small bar area that's cozy and fun.

Room was very cold through out the meal. We had the home made nachos, most of them were over cooked. The couple in the middle that weren't over fried had a nice flavor. The cowboy steak was extremely fatty. Expected a better piece of steak for the price.

Very nice not oversized dining room. Exposed original brick walls. The tables are spaced out well so its not a loud restaurant. Very unique menu. We started w/ Portuguese Mussels. Easily large enough to have as an entree. They were prepared in a Portuguese sausage and tomato based sauce. Very unique and excellent. The Cowboy Rib eye says it comes... More
