Excellent service, even though they were short-handed. My husband & I shared the white bean hummus appetizer, it was outstanding. My mussels were lovely, his steak was only OK.

Had a wonderful dinner. We had never been to Exeter and this pub is lovely and comfortable. They were busy on a Tuesday night with just 2 wait staff but our server did a great job getting our orders and drinks quite quickly. Shishito peppers...were perfect and every entree was tasty, piping hot, and a good sized portion. I would definitely eat here again.More

Every December my friends and I do an ornament exchange followed by dinner at Epoch. I enjoy Epoch throughout the year but there’s something extra special about the place around the holidays. Even though the dining room and bar were packed last Friday night, service...was friendly and attentive. I started with a “Catcher in the …” cocktail which was a delicious rye concoction, made extra delicious by the fact that a portion of the proceeds from the drink sale is being donated to the local Rotary Club. I love that the new menu has a nice assortment of small plates and I chose two of them for my entree. The Shrooms & Belly is insanely good. The mushrooms are flavorful and the pork belly is rich and crisp. The pickled turnip balanced the dish so that it’s not overly indulgent. My second small plate was the Roasted Corn Arancini which is a delicious spin on the traditional arancini. The paprika gives the rice a warmth and light smokiness that compliments the roasted corn nicely. For dessert I had the not to be missed Sticky Toffee Pudding. Served warm with Memories vanilla ice cream, it was the perfect end to our holiday meal. I’ll definitely be back again soon- maybe to try one of the new igloos they have set up in the courtyard!More

I went there with a group to celebrate a friend's birthday. We had a reservation, but waited a little while for a spot to open up on the patio (first come, first serve). It wasn't a problem though as we had the charming outdoor fire...pit area with adirondack chairs and string lights to wait. From the moment we sat down, it was a wonderful experience - the service was fantastic (attentive without being overbearing), and everything we ordered on the menu was fabulous. My group shared the fries, ceasar salad, lamb meatballs, and shishito peppers, to start. I ordered the chicken under a brick and goat cheese polenta for my entree. The appetizers were a little smaller than expected (except the salad, which was very generous), but the entree portions are huge (everyone in my group took about half home with them). For those wanting a covid safe spot to dine out at, this was ideal - well lit with string lights, comfy outdoor chairs, and a covered top (it started raining while we were there, but did not even notice). One more thing - they had no problem with us bringing a cake to cut and provided plates, a knife to cut, candles and a lighter. We're all looking forward to going back!More

Dined outside at Epoch - perfect for those with covid concerns. The server was EXCELLENT. She was charming and attentive - contributing to a great evening. Food was unusual and scrumptious. Feasted on heritage tomatoes and burrata and some astouding johnny cakes. Mushroom ragout and...pasta were other fine dishes. We ended with peach dessert and an amazing sticky toffee pudding. Our thanks to the staff (host helped us locate the ideal table), cheerful server and those that efficiently brought our dishes to our table.More

Enjoyed Sunday brunch, and found Epoch Gastropub as a new favorite in town. Exceptionally noteworthy were the wait staff - friendly, professional and engaging. When the waitstaff goes over backwards to make your dining experience special, then one knows the focus is spot on. Food...was well prepared and delicious. Coffee was among the best for restaurants, and the serving size was very generous. We enjoyed the classic eggs Benedict, and a poached egg dish made to order. Now we need to go back and see what else we can try on the menu!More

Restaurant is located at the beautiful historic Exeter inn hotel. We ate outside on a beautiful sunny day. Three egg omelette and sourdough bread - yum! Too early for me but mimosas only 5$ and lots of people were ordering them.

I received a notification saying that this restaurant was reopening with an updated menu. My best guess as to why I received this notification is that I love eating out I and watch a lot of food videos. Other than that, I have no connection...whatsoever with this restaurant or this Inn. My husband is a huge fan of restaurants inside Inns and I thought it might be good to try for his birthday. Then I saw the menu and I was sold. So we went for lunch on a beautiful summer Saturday. There was a wedding reception happening outside and it was fun to watch from our seats inside. There were about eight things on the menu I wanted to try so that was the tricky part. Anyway, we began by sharing the brown bread with maple butter. The bread was lightly grilled and the maple butter was a nice touch. Next, my husband had the corn chowder which was SO good. Sumptuous and creamy and sweet and orange. Yes, it was orange. And there was a flavor we couldn’t quite identify which turned out to be smoked paprika according to our server. Whatever it was, the whole thing was really, really yummy. For my main, I had the Fish and Chips with malt vinegar aioli. The fish was super crispy and flaky and light. One thing I will say is that it needed a little salt. Easily remedied problem! My husband had a burger cooked medium with fries which he said was juicy and delicious. Although we were super full at this point, we both ordered dessert. The Sticky Toffee Pudding was calling my name. I loved it! The cake was surprisingly light. I had thought it would be dense and heavy, but it wasn’t. It was sticky on the bottom and had a nice crunch from the nuts and the toffee. Along with vanilla ice cream, it was divine. My hubby had peach cobbler, which was good, but I hit the dessert jackpot this time. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was comfortable and relaxing. Can’t wait to go back and try the other things on the menu that looked intriguing. It was a very successful birthday lunch.More
