ENJOYED THE BEEF SOFT TACOS

In the downtown area, I stopped in at Cinco de Mayo Bar & Grill about 4:15 PM for a late Taco Tuesday lunch. I had the place all to myself. The host on duty was preparing for the dinner crowd and others who’d stop by for Taco Tuesday after work. It turned out that the Taco Tuesday deal was 2/$4.00. That made then $2.00 each. With tax, it was $4.35. It was a good deal. Next, I asked for ground beef that wasn’t spicy. The fellow said that none of their food was very spicy. The choices on tacos included soft flour, hard corn, or hard flour. I took soft flour. While I was waiting, he brought me a basket of chips and a cup of salsa. The salsa was a bit spicy. The crispy chips were not salty at all. I really liked them. My tacos came about 20 minutes later. Everything was fresh. The one I ate was very good. I took the second taco and about half the chips home. The leftover taco was good even over an hour-plus later when I ate it for supper. I rate my experience at Cinco de Mayo Bar & Grill at 4.25 and can recommend a visit. If you found this review helpful, please click THANK below.

Excellent Mexican Food

Great Mexican food and very comfortable atmosphere! Located in older building the inter was very original, polite service and excellent Mexican food and drink. Families were enjoying dinner while the kids loved their Mexican delicious delights! The menu was up to date and well stocked. Our chairs were very original and comfortable. We recommend families, couples or singles give it a try.!

Get the Camarones Gratinados - trust me.

I had a great dinner at their Epping location and was told a sister spot was open in the nearby town of Dover. I came for what was meant to be a light, pre-flight lunch, and those were my famous last words. I ordered El Tellez, a heaping mound of sizzling ribeye mixed with a perfectly seasoned, not-too-spicy sauce, and fresh veggies. It comes with tortillas but those are a bonus - you can eat it on its own and savor just as much of the kick. We also ordered the camarones gratinados - just imagine a sizzling plate of grilled shrimp covered in onions, peppers, and queso. Even when it eventually stopped sizzling it was covered in warm, cheesy bliss. My prickly pear margarita was great, and I am not much of a fruity margarita person to begin with, so I was pleasantly surprised. The location is smaller than the Epping restaurant but perfect for out-of-towners or office workers looking for a quick bite.

Decent Service but Subpar Food

Cinco de Mayo is possibly the most confusing dining experience I have ever had. There are much better restaurants in the downtown Dover area but I was craving Mexican. First impression was that it was very crowded in the lobby area so we decided to wait for our table outside. They are doing a decent job with their COVID procedures and the service was "okay" but their food tasted like Mexican food you could make at home. The cheese dip we ordered was watery and although tasty, it could be compared to Tostitos cheese dip that you find at the grocery store. The same applies to the rest of the food we ordered, nothing is homemade (unfortunately), but the prices reflect that. The one thing I enjoyed was their SangriaRita, although it was a very weak drink, it had a delicious berry taste.

Failure to Follow Directions

Boy this delivery order was a complete failure on multiple levels. The restaurant failed to include the tortillas with each meal. Secondly, the food was tasty but too heavy on salt. Each meal had too much oil, which made the ingredients very greasy. While the order was delivered on time, this restaurant doesn’t check its food quality before serving it to the customer. This is not good business if you plan on staying in business.

Excited about a New Mexican Restaurant

Nicely decorated Mexican restaurant in Epping. Arrive on Saturday for lunch. Unfortunately the Hostess didn’t seem to be enjoying her job. Did not smile once while we were there. Restaurant was not busy we were seated at a table with a draft, and minimum lighting. Ask to change tables and they seem happy to accommodate. Ordered Coconut Margarita, and Sangria. Lot’s of ice and weak drinks. Orders came out quick however one order was wrong. My husband had to sent it back and wait while they made another meal. Had to ask for more chips and salsa. Waitress was busy with other tables. I had the street tacos which were extremely salty. My husband had the Chimichanga special and they looked more like Taquito’s. Ordered a Dosequis and they were out. Funny they just opened for the day. Since there was a mixup with one of our meals you would think they would have compensated us some how. After all they are new to the area and need to put their best foot forward.

Went looking for fast and cheap but got ignored!

We were sat promptly then forgotten about for at least 15 minutes before we left. They sat us next to the door to the kitchen and we saw all of their servers as they came in and out of the kitchen but no one wanted to claim us. We ended up going across the street to Diverge and had healthier food for about the same money with great service.

Not what it used to be

Terrible service at the bar. Given the wrong to go order. Went back and was given the same order originally ordered because it was brought back. One hour later mind you. Asked for new order which was wrong again. I'll cook it myself next time. I have given this place nothing but good reviews to my friends. Now I know why they looked at me as if I was giving this place too much credit.

Good spot for drinks and Mexican food.The menu has plenty of items to choose from and many drink specials. On street parking is available.

thumbs down on a $12.00 chicken caeser salad

I spent $12.00 on a salad that barely had any romaine lettuce, avocodo or black beans. Very disappointed, tried to help a local business!

A really nice meal, with very friendly staff

Wife and I wanted a quiet good meal after my return from a business trip. The Waite staff was very attentive, made great suggestions. The food was well prepared and very taste.

Unexpected and excellent kitchen

We were driving through Dover and thought we would have a TexMex lunch. The location is central and easy to find. The interior is older and traditional, a little dull even, but for some very fun designed chairs. Crescencio took excellent care of us as a very good server. The food quality is the surprise here. Its really excellent. We had the street tacos and the Chile Verde burrito. The beans and rice also very good. The chips and salsa were not greasy and we had two lots on the house. The burrito was one of the best I have ever had and not stodgy and doughy. Great value for money

Amazing Mexican

Small town, delicious food at Cinco De Mayo restaurant. Our hotel recommended and it did not disappoint. Dinner Nachos were large enough to have left overs and the Street Tacos were as good as it gets. The Shrimp Appetizer with vegetables over rice could have been a dinner by itself.

Great Mexican food in town

Had fajitas and lunch burrito. Thought we were eating Mexican food in San Antonio Texas. The flavor of the burrito was enhanced by perfect spicing. The fajitas were sizzling hot with a generous portion.
