In hindsight we should have ordered the lobster roll, but we didn't. The Fish and Chips and the Shrimp and Chips were a bit on the greasy side and the fries where good, but not spectacular. Overall a solid place at a good price point.

A tree house atmosphere. Beautiful views. The clam chowder was great. My lobster roll was fantastic. I liked that they gave me an option for a side salad instead of fries. The fish sandwich was great as well. Very friendly.

Just had my first (and second) lobster roll of the season - it is better than I remember. The hot buttered is executed perfectly - roll toasted and buttered and crunch, lobster sweet (and lots of it). Can't wait to go back next weekend.

Went for Lobster Rolls, Fries & Onion Rings We really enjoyed our first visit of the season. Lobster roll was nicely toasted, onion rings were cut nice & thin & very tasty. Fries could have been crisper but could have been the takeout Box was...closed so the weren’t quite as crisp but all in all it was a nice meal, great view. So happy they are open! They have quite a few picnic tables set up with disinfectant spray & paper towels to clean it at each one. You call in your order and they bring it out to your vehicle.More

I only rate this place as average because the fries and fish are greasy. The lobster roll is very good, however pricy. This is a place that we go to about once a summer. I will say that the place was busy and a lot...of people must like it.More

Our food was awesome, a few too many bees for us to sit up top... but the view from the inside deck was still great! Even the world's pickiest toddler loved her chicken tenders kids meal.

Busy for good reason. The food is great, the prices are great, and the views of the surrounding area are fantastic.

Our daughter recently told us about a fine little seafood restaurant near the Mountains in Campton, NH. My wife and I decided to take a ride today up north to see if we could test just how good the Little Red Schoolhouse seafood really is....Having grown up near Ipswich, MA "clam country", we're "Hard Markers" about fried clams. And, after a wonderful lunch this afternoon, we both give the Schoolhouse a rousing 5-Star rating. On this rainy & very cool day, we arrived just about Noon to find quite a few cars already in the parking lot. The Schoolhouse has Order and Pick-Up Windows and all needed dining tools. In addition to outside picnic tables and an upstairs open dining area, there is a pleasant, rustic style dining area in the main restaurant with about a dozen tables overlooking a ledge to the famed Pemigewasett River. While we waited for our lunch, we sat nice and warm under several warming Gas-Lights above our table (note lights in photo). We both ordered Clam Plates that came with Fries (or Onion Rings) and Coleslaw. We both chose Fries for our paper plates and added a side-order of Onion Rings along with one large Soda with 2 cups ( beer and wine are also available). The clams were perfectly fried to our tastes with a nice mixture of large and small clams (I gave many of my small clams to my wife and ate up all of her larger clams). The Fries looked a bit too well done, BUT in fact, these crispy fries tasted as good as any I'v'e ever eaten (the same comment goes for the Onion Rings that were just plain scrumptious). As we both have big Fried Clam appetites, we agreed on our ride home that the plates could have provided a few more clams. First, I'll say the price of $18 for each plate was about $10-12 less than we pay in Rye, NH and Ipswich, MA. As such, I can't complain but on our next trip, we'll add an extra small box of Clams to our plate orders. In a nutshell, the Little Red Schoolhouse is truly a real Gem of a Fried Seafood friendly & casual restaurant that I highly recommend to all fried seafood lovers. It's right off Route 93 on your way to/from the mountains and Northwoods.. ps: Right now, they're open Weekends (Fri-Sun) until (I think) Columbus Day. Be sure to check the Website or phone them for a voice message.More

Look for the signs for this place, otherwise you’ll pass right by it! The food was good. Simple. I got the steak and cheese with fries. The bread was soft which I loved! The fries tasted like fair fries. The seating inside is scarce but...there are picnic tables outside that have a gorgeous view! I’d come back!More
