Don't know if it's a bad sign to write about the service first but the service is awesome! Easy to modify menu items, very knowledgeable of the menu - food and drinks, very attentive but not in your face, friendly and witted. Food was very good - had a medium rare burger that was cooked perfectly and tasted even better.... More

Our dinner at was excellent! The Butternut Squash Salad and Tavern Burger were fantastic and the Blackened Delmonico was just amazing. Our server, Jennifer, was friendly and professional and we enjoyed chatting with her about the area. John, the chef, cooked everything to perfection and our meal was absolutely delicious. We were actually quite surprised that a small town restaurant... More

On our first day of family vacation in New Hampshire we stopped by the Mad River Tavern. Our B&B nearby recommended the place for dinner so we figured it would be a great place to unwind and get a bite to eat. The waitstaff was very friendly, food was good, and atmosphere was excellent. The veggie burger that I tried... More

Stopped in for a quick lunch with my wife. Had the bourbon burger and she had the fish fry. Both were really good. Fish fry was best that i've tasted in a while, flaky fish. Coleslaw was outstanding.

We visit the Mad River Tavern every few months. We dined again about two weeks ago and was better than ever. The bar is friendly and the service is good. Two in our party had salmon done two different ways. I had the salmon in maple with a summer squash hash with bacon. Absolutely heaven. Another in our party had... More

This wasn't a good restaurant at all. The burger was supposed to be medium and it was burnt to a crisp, blackened and dry. The fries and chicken fingers tasted like dirty oil and fish fry. Might be a good place to drink but we won't be going back to find out.

We had their special sandwich, a turkey & cheese panini with thousand Island dressing they call "The Rachel" with the very best lattes. We go here often and love it!

For beer, bar food/appetizers, okay. Any main entree, even a burger is bad here. Used to be such a stellar establishment years ago. In the 90's this was the place to go for fine dining. Today it's another story. The place is physically falling a part and you can smell the mildew throughout the restaurant. Floor is breaking, tables and... More
